Thoughts from Your Pastor

We are celebrating the 23rd Sunday of Ordinary Time this weekend. We welcome Father Ray Clark to our parish this weekend as well. This Monday we celebrate Labor Day. On Wednesday of this week we have the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Then on Thursday we celebrate the Memorial of St. Peter Claver. I continue to ask all of us to be people of prayer. We have many reasons to pray, first and foremost is that Jesus has asked us to be people of prayer. We pray for our church, nation, world, for recovery of natural disasters, end to this virus, for the sick and dying, just to mention a few. We continue to ask everyone to mask up if you are within any of the buildings/church at any time. I appreciate the many that are doing so even though you may not want to mask up. For several weeks I have asked in the bulletin that we are in need of a chairperson for the picnic of 2022. I have not heard of anyone yet. I assume that means no one is interested in doing this for the parish, that means we will not be having our traditional picnic this year. We will be looking to do something in place of the picnic. I ask that you keep me in your prayers and know that I keep you and your families in my thoughts and prayers. Until next week, much love and prayers. Father Tony
