ST. REGIS STEWARDSHIP CORNER Today’s Readings appropriately deal with mercy as this Jubilee Year of Mercy winds down. The First Reading is best summed up in the phrase “…you spare all things because they are yours.” Holy Scripture over and over reminds us that all things come from God and all things are God’s. The stewardship way is recognizing and ac-cepting that fact.
In St. Paul’s letter to the Thessalonians, he reminds them, and us, to be prepared for when our Lord comes. St Paul prays …”that our God may make us worthy of his calling and powerfully bring to fulfillment every good purpose and every effort of faith.” Are we ready each day, each hour, and each minute?
The Gospel Reading is the familiar story of Zacchaeus, a wealthy tax collector. Although the sense of the story is that Zacchaeus sought and pursued Jesus, the truth was that Jesus was seeking Zacchaeus. Even though Zacchae-us was a sinner he has a desire to be saved and Jesus knows this and calls him my name. Jesus shows his un-bounded mercy.
As we prepare for our Ministry Fair at St. Regis on No-vember 12 and 13, let us reflect on these readings. Sign-ing up for a ministry is a wonderful way to accept Jesus more fully in our lives. Will we be prepared like Zac-chaeus was?
ST. REGIS MINISTRY UPDATE Did you know that the Art and Environment Ministry handles the decorations and flowers in the worship space along with installing seasonal flowers and plants at the main entrance. Members also water the plants. There are 4 parishioners along with extra help for the heavy lifting that put on over 200 hours to make our church a beautiful place to worship.
GRIEF GROUP On November 9th we will be starting a grief group at St. John Francis Regis Parish. If you have experienced the loss of a spouse, family member, or close friend and would like to join us, we will meet each Wednesday at 7pm in Mary’s room for the next four weeks. Please feel free to contact the parish office for more information.
ALL SAINTS DAY All Saints Day, November 1st, is a holy day of obligation. Mass will be at 8:30am with St. Regis Grade School, 10:25am with O’Hara High School and 7:00pm.

ELECTION DAY NOVENA In preparation for Election Day, the Knights of Columbus is calling all the faithful to join together in a novena to the Holy Trinity through the maternal intercession of the Blessed Mother, under her title of the Immaculate Con-ception, patroness of the United States. On the nine days leading up to Election Day - beginning on Sunday, Oct. 30 and concluding on Monday, Nov. 7 - please join in invoking the intercession of Mary, for our county. The novena is in the Gathering Space.

ST. REGIS ANNUAL MINISTRY FAIR Save the date: November 12-13th after all the Masses. Join the St Regis community to learn more about how you can become more involved in groups and committees that support and enrich our St. Regis Community.
Members will be available to share what they do and an-swer questions. You’ll have the opportunity to join groups and inquire more about the amazing activities hap-pening at St. Regis. Volunteering for a ministry or coun-cil is a great way to give thanks to God by sharing your gifts of Time and Talent.
All are invited to meet new people, renew friendships and see all that the parish community has to offer. Refresh-ments will be provided. Our Theme this year is:
We Walk by Faith Generous and loving God, Help us to be good stew-ards of all we are and have and will be. Give us wisdom to perceive your call, so that our stewardship may be a witness of your love for all. Amen.
WORLD MISSION SUNDAY Thank you for your generous response to the Society for the Propagation of the Faith last weekend on World Mis-sion Sunday. While some go to serve in other countries to develop the Church and serve its people, all of us are called to pray and support the Missions from right where we live. To continue answering this call, download the Missio App which makes it possible for you to meet and support religious Sisters and Brothers, priests and dedi-cated lay leaders who provide help and hope in some of the world’s poorest places. These missionaries provide essential education and health care, social outreach and advocacy, and pastoral service. They address basic hu-man needs, while in every moment offering spiritual com-fort and support to the suffering and the marginalized. Join them in mission every day as you joined them this past World Mission Sunday.

ST. REGIS SCHOOL NIGHT AT CULVER’S Come join us at Culver’s in Lee’s Sum-mit, Wednesday, November 2nd from 5-8pm. Culver ’s will donate 10% of all sales and 100% of all tips during this time to St. Regis School. Please tell your family, friends and neighbors. Dine-in or drive-thru - it doesn’t matter which - all sales count! We look forward to seeing you all there!
SCHOOL NEWS A.C.R.E testing for both 5th and 8th grade students will begin the week of November 7th. Please remind your stu-dents to get plenty of sleep and to eat a healthy breakfast.
The A.C.R.E. assessment provides students the oppor-tunity to demonstrate what they have learned about their Catholic faith. The assessment is cumulative and will pull knowledge from lessons learned from other grade levels. Scores and other important information about the A.C.R.E. will be released later in the year.
Mark your Calendars! Our Joyful Choir will be singing at the Raytown Christmas Tree Lighting on December 2nd! Please join us to support our students. Time and location are coming soon.

If you have a fami-ly member who died since last November and was buried from a church other than St. Regis, you are welcome to include their name in this Mass by calling the Parish of-fice by Wednesday, October 26th. All are welcome to join us for this remembrance of our beloved dead.
