MICHAEL’S COLLEGE SCHOOL The Office of Admissions of St. Michael’s College School is now considering applications for September 2017. St. Michael’s teaches from Grade 7 to Grade 12. Open Houses for interested parents and their sons will be held on the following evenings: Thursday, Oct 20 and Tuesday, Oct 25 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Location: St. Mi- chael’s College School, 1515 Bathurst St. READINGS Sir 35:12-4, 16-18, 2 Tm 4:6-8, 16-18, Lk 18:9-14 The main theme of today’s Gospel is that true humility must be the hallmark of our prayers. The central focus of today’s parable is not on prayer itself, but rather on pride, humility and the role of grace in our salvation. WORLD MISSION SUNDAY Today we also observe the World Mission Sunday. This an- nual observance was instituted 89 years ago in 1926 by a Papal decree issued by Pope Pius XI. Every year since then, the universal Church has dedicated the month of October to reflection on and prayer for the missions. St. John Paul II once wrote: "We have, in World Mission Day, an excellent occasion for an examination of conscience with regard to our missionary obligation, and for reminding all the faithful of the Church, whatever be their function and place, that each one is involved in this duty." On World Mission Sunday, Catholics gather to celebrate the Eucharist and to contribute to a collection for the work of evangelization around the world. This annual celebration gives us a chance to reflect on the importance of mission work for the life of the Church. It reminds us that we are one with the Church around the world and that we are all committed to carrying on the mis- sion of Christ, however different our situations may be. So today there will be a second collection towards the mission- ary work throughout the world. Our prayers and donations on World Mission Sunday help to support churches, hospi- tals, schools and vocations in countries where the Church is new, young or poor. Please give generously. Thank you very much; your support is greatly appreciated. OUR PARISH CELEBRATE THE WORLD MISSION SUNDAY This Sunday there will be no 10:30am English or 12:00pm Polish Masses, but there will be Mass at 11:00 am with the presence of the statue of Our Lady of Fatima. EWANGELIA Wj 17:8-13 2 Tm 3:14-4:2 Lk 18: 1-8 W dzisiejszej Ewangelii Pan Jezus ponownie przypomina o wartości pokornej, ufnej, wytrwałej modlitwy. Gdy stanę w prawdzie przed Bogiem i przed samymi sobą, uznam swoją słabość i grzeszność, wtedy zostanę wysłuchany i Pan udzieli mi swojej łaski. 14:00: Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Whitby - Msza święta Godz. 14:30: Meadowvale Cemetery, Brampton Mount Hope, Toronto, Park Lawn, Toronto, Sanctuary, Toronto, Holy Cross, Toronto Queen of Heaven, Woodbridge, Pine Hills, Scarbor-ough, Christ the King Cemetery, Scarborough, Thornton Cemetery, Oshawa Godz. 16:00:Assumption, Mississauga, Mount Peace, Missis-sauga, St. John’s, Mississauga, St. Mary’s, Mississauga.
