Thank You For Your Stewardship

This year World Mission Sunday will be

celebrated on the weekend of October 23rd.

Who can administer Anointing of the Sick? Only a priest can administer Anointing of the Sick

(i.e. Extreme Unction).

When is it advisable to call the priest to visit the

sick? It is advisable to call the priest to visit the

sick in any serious illness, even though there be no

apparent danger of death, as it is the duty of the

priest to visit the sick and to administer to them the

sacraments they need.

In case of sudden or unexpected death, should a

priest be called? In case of sudden or unexpected

death a priest should be called always, because

absolution and Extreme Unction can be given

conditionally for some time after apparent death.

CCC 1514-1516

all.

A priest was near a group of his parishioners

when he overheard them talking about

various pastors who had served the parish.

His ears perked up when he heard an older

man say, “Whenever someone asks me,

‘Which of our pastors did you like best?’ my

answer is always, ‘The pastor we have at any

given time is my favorite.’”

The pastor who was listening in breathed a quiet sigh

of relief. God sends each pastor to us with his own set

of spiritual gifts, and God works through each pastor’s

gifts to bring us God’s blessings.

So we thank our Pastor, Fr. Ugwu, and ask God to

bless and protect him.
