“Consider these things before you”

3 Things• Stop saying “God is Good”!– God’s goodness is not determined by your

happiness (Job 1:21)• Stop saying “God knows my heart” – Out of the heart comes evil thoughts! (Matthew 15:19)

• Stop saying the “Bible is a guide for a good life”– We follow not because its convenient , but

because he has the words of life! (John 6:68)

3 Things• Stop preaching Baptism and preach Christ!– Acts 20:27 “proclaim the whole council of God”

• Stop making your private life public!– 1 Thessalonians 4:11 “ live the quiet life and mind

your own business”!• Stop rule keeping and start loving God!– Ephesians 5:16 “ making the most of every

opportunity to serve”

3 Things• Jesus didn’t die for your American Dream!– Jesus didn’t die to make you successful• John 16:33

– Physical blessings are incidental • Matthew 5:45

– We are blessed because he has taken our sin!• Ephesians 2:7

• “Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of our Lord , Jesus Christ” – 2 Peter 1:2

3 Things• Jesus didn’t die for your “cause”!– Jesus is not the “Poster boy” for your movement!

• The Gospel is for ALL who will hear it –• 2 Timothy 2:24- 26

• “The Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome, but kind to ALL ,able to teach, patient when wronged, with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of truth and they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the Devil having been held captive by him to do his will”

3 Things• Jesus didn’t die to merely raise your moral standard!– Ephesians 2:8-9

• Merely behaving doesn’t grant Salvation!

– All have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God = ALL NEED GOD.

• Jesus didn’t die so you wouldn’t have to change!– 2Corinthians 5:17– Ephesians 2:10

• We were created for so much more than to serve our selves !

• To effectively change others, WE MUST also !
