A WORD FROM THE COMMANDER BILL MILLER SR. AMERICAN LEGION POST113 AUGUST— SEPTEMBER SOUND OFF First of all I would like to thank all the members who voted for me to be your commander. We have great officers on the board and we work as a team to make the American Legion Post 113 a more comforta- ble, happy and fun place to go, the place to come to where we take care of all our veterans and their family and friends. My door is always open to listen to any suggestions or concerns that you may have. if you have any better ideas on how to make the post be even better, please use a suggestion box, make sure you sign it. We are always looking for ways to make the post better. We will review your suggestion, if that is an improvement we will certainly use it. I would like to thank our Chef Lori, for running our kitchen and would love it if everyone would come down and try it out her lunches and night time meals are fabulous. Check our calendar for dates. We have excellent spaghetti night on Monday. Friday fish fries, along with other entrees. She tries to satisfy everyone and she usually does a great job at that. I would also like to thank are wonderful volunteer bartenders. They do an awesome job making share everyone feels comfortable. Thank you volunteers. Once again "Thank You" for putting your trust in me. God bless our troops. God bless you all, Bill Miller, Sr. Commander ********************************************************************************************************** Special Message!!! Members!!! Members!!! We are asking all that receive our letter to once again reaffirm their need for a hard copy. Please send this page to: ATTN: Adjutant, American Le- gion Post 113, Rotonda West, FL 33947. It has been several years since we asked people if they needed a hard copy, in the ensuing years we have all become more tech. (digital) aware i.e. Cell Phones, Computers, Lap Tops, I Pads, Face Book (Rotonda West Legion Post) etc. The Sound Off has been updated on line and can be accessed by www.alp113, it has all of the information that is contained in the hard copy of the Sound Off. We will still print some (very few) copies that will be available at the Post. Currently we mail 290 copies of the News Letter to local zip codes. Notice ! Notice ! Notice! Notice !

Tom Jackling is in need of volunteers for the up coming Veterans Golf

Tournament, scheduled for November.

Tom is only one of two people still on the organizing committee.

I would think that of ALL the golfers and their spouses that we have in

this post that a few (7-8) would step up and become involved on this

committee. This event is one of the MAJOR FUND RAISERS for the

Post and supports only the Jacobson Veterans Nursing home in Port

Charlotte and the Bay Pines VA Veterans Hospital in Tampa.

Please see Tom and offer your assistance. The effort usually starts in

mid to late August.

If he does not receive any volunteers the Tournament of 25 years

most likely will cease.

Many hands make the work load much easier to handle.
