Carbs are okay, but makesure you’re also gettingsome healthy fats and
proteins. Greek yogurt withfruit and oatmeal withpeanut butter are two
great ways to tackle this.
Carbs, especially refinedsugar and white bread, arewhat we call high-glycemic
foods. They can causespikes in your bodies blood
sugar, which in turncreates cravings.

The best way to curb ahabit is through
substitution. Go for a runor a walk. Meditate. Trydoing absolutely nothing.
For some people, eating isa form of stress
management. At somepoint in their development,they acquired the habit of
eating in order to curestress.

RemedyThere are number of waysto reduce stress and relax.
Find something that’llmake you laugh to getsome appetite-reducing
serotonin flowing throughyour body. Go outside and
get some sunlight.
In a stress state, cortisolgets released into the body
in order to triggermotivation. Again, thinkback to fight or flight.Motivation = increasedlikelihood of survival. At
the same time, cortisol alsoincreases appetite.

RemedyNext time you get a snackcraving, drink more waterand see how you feel 15
minutes later.
It’s easy for the brain toconfuse thirst and hunger.This is due in part to thefact that the same part ofyour brain that interprets
hunger also interprets thirstsignals.
