Why are healthy snacks important? From age 12, children need almost the same amount of food as adult women, but it can be difficult to eat enough during the main meals. This is why it is a good idea to have a few healthy snacks during the day.

How many snacks you need depend on many things, for example on how active you are. Doing sports or exercising requires far more energy than reading or sitting in front of the computer.

Why snack on eggs? All eggs – including small snack eggs – contain all the minerals, vitamins and trace elements that the human body needs, except for vitamin C. In other words; eggs are a true superfood!

Eggs contain 12.5 g of high quality protein per 100 g. That is a lot, and it means that eggs will make you feel full for longer. Protein strengthens the body, is great for your immune system and is an important source of energy.

Eggs also contain fat, but hardly any carbohy-drate. This is why it can be a good idea to have eg. a bit of fruit or bread with your eggs.

Small organicEggs are a healthy and nutritious snack. Small organic snack eggs are the perfect choice for parents looking for healthy and organic snack or lunch box options for their children.

You need:

· a bit of butter · 2 slices of whole grain toast · 2 slices of ham or turkey · 2 snack eggs · 1 tomato · a bit of grated cheese

This is what you do:

1. Turn on the oven to 180 °C. Butter two small bowls, ramekins or solid muffin cups. Press a slice of whole grain toast thoroughly into each bowl. Cutting the bread into smaller pieces makes it easier.

2. Add a layer of ham or turkey on top of the bread. Break an egg into each bowl.

3. Chop the tomatoes and add them to the bowls. Top with grated cheese.

4. Cook the muffins for approx. 18-20 minutes at 180 °C. Remove the muf-fins from the bowls and serve – bon appetit!

What is an organic egg? Organic eggs come from hens with access to an outdoor area. The hens enjoy pecking for worms, climbing trees and playing hide and seek in the bushes.

The hens eat organic feed which is grown without the use of artificial fertilizers or pesticides.

Have a snack!Eggs are your friend in the kitchen: they make it so easy to whip up a tasty snack after school to give you energy for more fun.
