THE GENERAL RULES ABOUT FONTS ON MAPS
NO MORE THAN TWO FONTS PER MAP. IT IS BEST TO USE ONLY ONE.
However, there are several ways to alter your single, classic font.
YOU CAN USE ALL CAPS. ALL CAPS BOLD. ALL CAPS ITALIC.
You Can Do The Same With The Title Case.
You can change the point size: 12 points, 16 points, 8 points, 36 points.
You can change the color.
You can rotate, stretch, skew, and make several other types of orientation alterations of the label.
FONT (TYPE): The style or appearance of the lettering. This is Times New Roman, 12 point type.
It is a serif type. The serif is the little tail, like the one on the end of this "t" that imitates hand writing and makes the letters flow, one into the next.
A sans serif font does not have the tail and is harder to read. You are reading Arhoni now. Dr. Hines hates this font.
Some fonts are too cutesy after a short period. You are reading
Bernhard here. Ditto.
Script fonts might be good for labeling water features because they flow.
Unusual or novelty fonts are only suitable on rare occasions BECAUSE THEY ARE HARD TO READ AND CAN BE VERY IRRITATING. This one is called Magneto. Dr. Hines hates it.
