Thanks to Hypack, Norbit, University of Malta and GBT Offshore a very interesting 3 days course on

Multibeam and Laser Scanner was carried out in Malta from 26th to 28th of September 2016.

Norbit and GBT Offshore were in Malta a few days before to take care of the Multibeam

shipping, custom documents and vessel mobilization.

Installation of the Multibeam was very easy and fast thanks to the small dimensions and

portability of the Norbit system.

Hypack and GBT held the course at the University of Malta,

many topics were discussed, from Multibeam Theory of

Operations to the Multibeam Processing and Exporting, going

through the Interfacing and the Acquisition of Multibeam data.

Valletta Harbour is a great place for data collection because of the known presence of a wreck and semi-

submerged structures, like a Jack-Up. This is the ideal scenario to collect Multibeam and Laser Scanner data.
