3/14/2013 Forgotten People Statement of Solidarity with the Havasupai Tribe
Forgotten People on the Navajo Nation Stands in Solidarity with the Havasupai tribe and
supports your suit with Grand Canyon Trust, Center for Biological Diversity and Sierra Club to
oppose the US Forest Service March 7th decision to allow Energy Fuels Resources, Inc. to begin
operating Canyon mine, a uranium mine about six miles from the south rim of the GrandCanyon.
Forgotten People believes the U.S. Forest Service has an obligation to consult with the
Havasupai tribe and update a 1986 federal environmental review of the Canyon Mine that
threatens cultural values, wildlife, endangered species and increases the risk of adverse public
health, Cancer, contamination of the environment , ground water and drinking water. Visitors
come to the Grand Canyon from around the world. Your actions will affect the whole world.
Forgotten People says No uranium mining in Grand Canyon!
Respectfully submitted,Bonnie Whitesinger, President
