First Solemn Holy Communion
First Solemn Communion is an important step in our
spiritual lives. It is the first major opportunity for a
child to learn about their faith, and fully participate in
the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist on their
own.
In one sense this is a spiritual graduation from being a child who
passively receives the faith from their parents, to a young person who
actively participates in their own spiritual development
The Gospel shows clearly how special was that love for children which
Christ shows while He was on earth. It was His delight to be in their
midst; He was wont to lay His hands on them. He embraced them and He
blessed them. At the same time He was not pleased when they would be
driven away by the disciples, whom He rebuked gravely with these words:
"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for of such
is the kingdom of God." It is clearly seen how highly He held their
innocence and the open simplicity of their souls on that occasion when He
called a little child to Him and said to the disciples: "Again, I say to you,
unless you turn and become like little children, you will not enter into the
kingdom of heaven....And whoever receives one such little child for my
sake, receives me."

We are grateful to all who have assisted these children on their
journey of faith. This list includes but not limited to, their parents,
godparents, brothers and sisters, our Parish Priest -
Fr. Darren Kawiuk, Level II Catechism Teacher, Leanne Obirek.
Thank you for helping prepare these children for the greatest gift
they will ever receive. We can only hope and pray that their parents
will provide the opportunities for their children to continue to receive
the Holy Eucharist at weekly Liturgy in our church.

CHRIST LOVER OF MANKIND
June, 3, 2016
The Mystery of the Church unveils Christ's infinite love to mankind. Through His Church, Christ willed to embrace all
nations with His love. Before His Ascension to heaven, He said to the
Apostles: "And know that I am with you always; yes, to the end of
time." (Matthew 28:20) Devotion to Christ the Lover of Mankind is the worship of
His infinite love.
