The technology-based produc-ers are able to move ahead using Exactrix technology to stay in the game. As the market rises or falls the producer can go to work and stop the spending slippage.

Exactrix owners already know they have a 12 percent competitive advantage and are always able to compete as the low cost producer with Exactrix super accurate NH3

application with phosphate, sulfur and potassium. Low cost ammo-niated zinc also adds additional advantage with 10-34-0.

Exactrix owners have more net margin SaMASZ was founded in 1984

by Antoni Stolarski to serve the hay, forage and vegetation main-tenance markets. The SaMASZ product design and manufacture quality reputation spread fast, and it now employs nearly 700 people. The company resources are cen-tered around product development and market innovation. As a result, SaMASZ takes great pride in intro-ducing industry leading new product innovations on an annual and ongo-ing basis. SaMASZ currently exports products worldwide—serving and supporting 50 different markets.

The product range currently consists of 300 different models serving the hay and forage industry, municipality forage maintenance industry, and commercial and municipality snow removal indus-tries, to name a few.

Late hay season 2015 has brought another milestone to the Stolarski

and SaMASZ family—this was an unprecedented event. On July 2 of this year, SaMASZ attempted to set the Guinness World Record for the largest area of meadow mowed within 8 hours. At about 10 p.m., a unit consisting of MegaCUT mow-ers with a working width of 9.4 m coupled to a Deutz-Fahr Agrotron 7250 TTV tractor with a rated power of over 250 HP began its work.

It was calculated that as a result, a total area of 238 acres of grass was cut within 8 hours. The average mower

unit speed exceeded 9.9 mph and the effective efficiency was 37.9 acres/hour. During work the tractor used 7.71 gallons of fuel per hour. This translates into approximately less than ¼ gallons of diesel fuel per acre.

With this, Price Bros Equip-ment Co. is proud to introduce the SaMASZ family to the Midwest USA. If you would like information on SaMASZ or any of the Price Bros Equipment Co. brands of products, please visit us at www.pricebroseq.com/shop or call 1-877-957-9577.

6E 2015 3i Show | www.hpj.com | September 28, 2015

Premier Tillage (formerly DC Welding) has recently introduced a new 21st century blade plow called the Minimizer. It differs sig-nificantly from those that have been on the market for years. Ulti-mately it is a machine that condi-tions the soil and effectively kills those weeds that are now resistant to herbicides.

The all new torque free rock-shaft design allows for precision depth control. With this technol-ogy, you can plow shallower and do a more effective tillage opera-tion than by running too deep. This is the only machine that incorporates the picker mounts right into the frame. This feature allows the plow to have a stream-line look and adds weight in important places on the back of the 4 x 5” horizontal frame. The 3/8” forward frame is geometri-cally designed to add strength as well as a better balance to the plow. New heavier constructed standards allow use in harder soil conditions or obstructions, which sometimes become a dif-ficult issue.

The Minimizer hitch is unique in that it connects to

the frame in three places rather than two. This advanced design allows for a stronger and more secure way of pulling the plow in the field and in transporting it between fields. It utilizes 1 ¼” hitch adjustment bolts with heavy duty bushings.

The tires are wide-flat tread pat-tern units, which give better trac-tion and have a longer tire life. They allow the plow to be pulled more easily when roading it from one field to the next.

With no turnbuckles or zerks on the plow and with a unique new secure and hidden bear-ing system which eliminates the need for greasing, time in tool

preparation for use is minimal.

The Minimizer is created and marketed by Premier Tillage, 200 Main Street, Quinter, KS 67752. Contacts are 785-299-0233 for sales, 785-656-0202 for the office and 888-955-4587 for the parts department. You may contact Dan Chupp, Tyrell Chupp, Justin Chupp or Len Wertz for more information. As owner and inventor of Rawhide Portable Corral, Inc., John McDon-ald designed the Rawhide Portable Corral after working with cattle and rodeo livestock most of his life. Hard work for many years, back surgery and children moving away to col-lege resulted in a concept that things just had to be easier than hauling panels around—why not place them on wheels? He envisioned a way to use wheels on panels to make the set up of portable pens easier; rolling a panel is definitely easier than carry-ing one.

Developed in 2010, the Rawhide Processor is different than the first design in three main ways: it is a goose-neck model, it has permanent trans-port wheels and it has a permanent sheeted working alley.

The Rawhide Processor is offered in three sizes for the convenience of ranchers and cattle producers through-out North America: Standard, Large and Super Large.

The Standard Processor is optimal for smaller herds and has a 40-50 cow/calf capacity. The Large Processor is the most popular corral with our cur-rent customers and has an 80 to 100 cow/calf capacity. The largest Proces-sor, Super Large, has a 140 cow/calf capacity and was designed specifically with those larger cattle producers in mind. The Rawhide corrals offer the most versatility in pen size and con-figuration of any corral on the market, no matter which size is purchased.

The newer design of the Processor has impressed cattle producers with its versatility and ease of use. The

Quality Structures, Inc. announces they have added a new product to their lineup of quality building options.

QSI, Quality Structures, Inc. based out of Richmond, Kansas, has six locations in the four state areas of Kansas, Missouri, Nebras-ka and Iowa. QSI has a local sales rep in your area that specializes in Post Frame Buildings. “Our reps enjoy consulting and educating the customer on the best practices of post frame,” said Josh Nowlin, general sales manager at QSI.

We are excited to add Post Pro-tectors to our great lineup of qual-ity products. Post Protector is a 2014 Gold Key of Excellence Award Winner. That particular award is given by Rural Builder Magazine and is a prestigious award in the Post Frame Industry. Post Protec-tor is simply a plastic sleeve that slides over the bottom of your laminated columns that prevents soil contact from the post. Shane Kitchens a trained wood scientist has recently put together an edu-cational video about the effect that soil and wood destroying micro-organisms have on wood. That video can be viewed at www.post-protector.com.

QSI would like to offer Post Protection covers as a free upgrade to any building sold at this year’s 3i Show. Please stop in and see us in

our QSI Building, Lots 170 & 172. Questions you may have should be directed to Bruce Guy at 800-374-6988.

QSI specializes in complete post frame buildings

permanent sheeted adjustable alley aids with working your livestock, whether it is done on site or in the field. The adjust-able alley can be sized from 30 inches down to 16 inches, either manually or hydraulically.

The Processor does offer the option of mounting a head gate to the end of the alley for easy, on-site cattle processing. Another option a customer may choose to add on to their Processor is a self-con-tained loading chute.

No matter the design or size of the Rawhide, if you like to lure your cattle with feed, the Rawhide offers cattle producers the capability of driving a pickup truck completely through and out the opposite end of the corral.

Each panel section has its own solid

rubber wheel, which means no flats and no worries while out in the field working cattle. The corral has four man-pass gates to aid in human movement about the system. These are for both convenience and safety; no need to climb over panels.

The Rawhide has the capability of form-ing multiple pens to aid with sorting your livestock. No matter the day, you will able to catch and sort your animals with ease.

The most notable features of the Raw-hide corrals are that they are easy to set up and they are easy to transport. We mean it when we say that one person can open up the corral without lifting a panel.

The key is one person can handle it all by themselves. You can manipulate the panels so it is not just one big pen, but two, three or even four pens for sorting. You

can never have enough pens when it comes to working cattle. McDonald has designed the corral so you can add equipment or subtract from it.

To give the Processor added support and convenience in hauling, this model comes as a gooseneck only. There is a self-con-tained power unit with a long life marine battery and a solar panel mounted atop.

John and his wife Mary run the opera-tion at their facility in Abilene, Kansas, the only place where a Rawhide may be purchased. It has always been a family operation and will continue into the next generation.

High school ag programs invited to 3i Show Ag Career Day—register today

Western Kansas Manufacturers Association, sponsor of the annual 3i Show, is excited to announce attendees can register to schedule their very own Pro Trailer Backup Assist personal demo and test drive, and enter for a chance to win a 2016 F-150 at F150drive.com with the “Backup to the Future of Tough!” promotion at this year’s 3i Show. Consumers will be able to test out the 2016 Ford F-150 with segment-first Pro Trailer Backup Assist ahead of the truck’s availability in dealer Showrooms. Walk-up par-ticipation is also encouraged, and guests are urged to bring friends. Everyone who registers is entered for a chance to win a new 2016 F-150 with additional opportuni-ties to earn over 30 extra entries.

The “Backup to the Future of Tough!” tour will visit more than 11 markets across the United States from Sept. 1 through Nov. 29. Drive events will take place at events such as farm shows, agriculture shows, boat shows and auto shows. Con-sumers can visit F150drive.com to find the tour stop nearest them.

This exhibit is a chance to be one of the very first in the world to experience one of the most excit-ing and advanced features to ever wear the Ford badge and a chance to be part of a historic automo-tive technology launch. Pro Trailer Backup Assist is the latest example of Ford changing the way the world moves—delivering smart solutions that improve the productivity of consumers so they can spend more time on the job or enjoying the lake. Backing up a trailer can be tricky. The truck’s front wheels have to be turned the opposite direction

the customer wants the trailer to go. Turn too hard and the trailer can hit the vehicle, or jackknife. Whether working alone or with a spotter, backing up a trailer can be a tension-filled ordeal. This segment-first technology allows customers to steer a trailer instinctively by turning a knob left or right to indi-cate direction; the truck controls its

steering and limits vehicle speed. In addition to the all-new Pro

Trailer Backup Assist, tour vehicles will feature the all-new 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 that produces 325 horsepower and 375 lb.-ft. of torque and includes Auto Start-Stop Tech-nology designed to enhance fuel economy in stop-and go driving. The 3.5-liter EcoBoost that produc-es 365 horsepower and 420 lb.-ft. of torque will be available to test drive as well..

Western Kansas Manufacturers Association is excited to announce Matheson Tri-Gas has partnered once again with Miller to bring the Miller Road Show Truck to the Annual 3i Show. Attendees can experience the latest technology in welding and metal cutting equip-ment at the show Oct. 8 through 10, from Matheson’s exhibit spaces O-203-208.

Live product demonstrations from Miller Electric Mfg. Co. will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Attendees are encouraged to try out some Miller safety gear and spend time under the hood during the show.

From welding professionals who lay down a lot of welding bead, to farmers who make the occasional repair, to weekend welding warriors—visitors can learn helpful tips and participate in hands-on demonstrations. The Miller team will also be available to answer questions about proj-ects or processes.

The customized tractor-trailer is loaded with more than 30 welding and metal cutting products—many with applicable show specials, or that meet the eligibility requirements of the current Miller Build with Blue rebate program.

New to the Miller lineup and available to try will be the redesigned Millermatic 211. At only 38 pounds, the MIG welder weighs nearly 50 percent less than previous models—with no loss of output power. Inverter tech-nology produces a faster-reacting arc that’s able to weld up to 3/8-inch mild steel in a single pass. Advanced Auto-Set capabilities allow a user to select from five wire and gas combinations, and the Multi-Voltage Plug allows easy no-tool selection of either 120 V or 240 V power.

For more information, visit the Miller Road Show Truck in Mathe-son’s exhibit spaces O-203-208 or go to MillerWelds.com.

Miller Road Show Truck to host Live Welding and Metal Cutting Demos, offer show specials at 3i Show

The 2015 Miller Road Show Truck will be attending the upcoming 3i Farm Show in Dodge City, Kansas. Attendees can experience the latest technology in welding and metal cutting equipment Oct. 8 through 10 from 3i show spaces O-203 to O-208. Live product demonstrations from Miller Electric Mfg. Co. will be taking place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Attendees are encouraged to put on some Miller safety gear and get some time under the hood.

At only 38 pounds, the MIG welder weighs nearly 50 per-cent less than previous models—with no loss of output power. Inverter technology produces a faster-reacting arc that’s able to weld up to 3/8-inch mild steel in a single pass. Advanced Auto-Set capabilities allow a user to select from five wire and gas combinations, and the Multi-Voltage Plug allows easy no-tool selection of either 120 V or 240 V power.

After a season of operation, cen-ter pivots leave a variety of track issues. The degree of track prob-lems depends on soil types and the contour of the land. In some cases, the pivot will push the soil (mud) ahead of the pivot tire then dump it. This creates a deep track then a high spot or the track will wash down the hills. The 610 Closer is designed to deal with these problems. Hydrauli-cally adjusts the 10’ wide disc gangs forward or back to move just the right amount of dirt to the track. For optimal depth, the disc blade con-figuration of 22” blades inside to 13” blades outside helps to spread soil evenly. Lower the 6’ box scraper to pull dirt to low areas, drag dirt uphill

and level high spots. Operating with a pull type design allows the 610 Closer to follow the land contour. To give a finished look, the rolling basket firms and smooths the tilled area preparing your field for the next growing season. The 610 Closer can handle other tasks such as field ero-sion, maintain access roads and fill trenches. To see it in action on You-Tube, search “KC pivot track closer.”

For more information, stop by to see us at the 3i Show booth 0-054 & 0-056. Also, we’re located at KC Equipment, 41296 Hwy 40, Gothenburg, Nebraska, 69138. Give us a call at 308-529-1802 or email Keith Carlson at [email protected].

North Central Steel Co. real-ized there was a need for a machine that could produce 20 tons or more of 1,100-micron feed for dairies with 2,000 or more cows. We have been deal-ers for Mix-Mill since 1968, and the mills have produced a grind that nutritionists like for maxi-mum milk production. The lat-est mill is the Sentry 1030 mill that has a 30-HP motor and can grind 7 to 8 tons per hour.

The Triple 30 Mill was designed to be portable, is prewired, ready to operate, and has an overhead bin that can be filled by a front end loader or by an auger from a bin. The discharge auger passes through all 3 mills and delivers the grain out of the rear to a swivel that is connected to an optional auger that puts finished product into a bin or pile.

Cost to operate the Triple 30 is 1 dollar per ton for parts and power, at a savings of $8 or $9 per ton for 365 days—the return on investment is less than a year. The more it runs, the more it makes. And if your pres-ent feed grind is less quality than the Mix-Mill, that would be an added bonus. One customer reported his herd of 6,500 cows increased 4 pounds per cow, per day. Some bonus!

North Central Steel has a complete stock of parts that can be shipped to you by UPS daily. For more information, contact North Central Steel Co., 1349 Golden Rd., Minneapolis, KS, 67467 and you can call us at 785-392-2077 or 800-382-0106. Email us at [email protected]. The Feederleader, a product distributed by Price Brothers Equipment, Wichita, Kansas, offers The Boss to assist farmers who deal with hay wastage. Designed for both round and square bales, The Boss three-point linkage bale feeder is manufactured in New Zealand where efficiency is vital because of the size of country. According to Blair Cameron, president of Feederleader Corporation, “When bales are simply rolled out, they produce a wide mat of hay, which allows cows to walk over in order to get to the tasty bits. Unfortunately the rest is left uneaten and this can have an impact on the farm-er’s bottom line.” For more information, see a dealer or visit www.feeder-leader.com.

It’s football season. You all know what this means: predic-tions of Superbowl winners, friendly razzing, not-so-friendly razzing, Sundays listening to the radio or watching the television, wearing your team colors, and if you are really lucky, heading out to a game or two. I would love to put a spin on our ability to custom-make you a tent top, or roll over cover with Wildcat pur-ple or J-Hawk crimson. I would love to talk about our ability to help you support your team in totally new and diverse way. Well we can, but what I really want to talk to you about is our friendly in-home rivalries.

You see the majority of our staff loves football, and almost no one has the same team. We are blessed to have not lost a single person in over two years, so we do a bunch of razzing here. From the New Orleans Saints (Angie, office manager), Wash-ington Redskins (Tyler, produc-tion manager), Denver Bron-

cos (Bryan, VPof business), to the Kansas City Chiefs (Doug, owner/Gary, sales manager) we, much like our company, are diverse. If you walk into our shop on Fridays, the front office will more than likely be wearing their favorite teams colors or jerseys. We have football sched-ules on the walls of our offices and the casual conversation is over who looks the best, how we armchair quarterback and what coaching errors were made the weekend before. (Of course we are smarter and have a better ath-letic ability than those coaches

and players…sigh) My (Bryan) two favorite things about foot-ball season are: my dad (Doug) and my personal team’s rival-ry, and the excitement (which translates into morale) here at our company! I just want to wrap things up thanking all of our partners, customers and our staff for their amazing work and dedication. We are truly blessed to have you all here—a part of our great company!

Visit us at Longshot Enterpris-es, L.L.C., 824 N 9th Street, Salina, Kansas, 67401, or call 785-493-0171. Our fax is 785-493-0805.

The AgSynergy DR model toolbars with 15” row spacing are ideal for both pre-plant and side dress applications for wheat. The minimal to no visible dis-turbance row unit applies anhy-drous ammonia with nearly zero negative impact to the standing wheat plants in side dress appli-cations. The Genesis TRX row units are also able to handle large amounts of residue from the pre-vious season’s crop without plug-ging or hair pinning. This allows for residue to remain in its place to reduce erosion and minimize moisture loss.

In late August Brad Blasdel, a wheat farmer near Buffalo, Okla-homa, was doing a pre-plant application of Anhydrous ammo-nia and a liquid blend of fertil-izer on his ground using his new AgSynergy Genesis TRX Model DR40AL.

There is no better way to tell this story then to listen to what Blasdel has to say: “When I first saw this unit at the 3i Show a few years ago, I was intrigued with the whole idea. I kept following up year after year and I finally got serious at the last show. They built my unit and deliv-ered it in January. Ever since they came out with the TRX system I’ve been excited. I know that they have a lot of research and development into this.” He went on to say, “When I got this unit in January, we top dressed with it on my winter wheat. You couldn’t even see where you’d been except with the tractor tire tracks. Right now, I’m running on no-till wheat stubble that was cut in July that was 4 to 6 inches tall. And it’s laying it down on the ground just the way this machine is made to do. But it’s

not really disturbing the ground, it’s just laying the stubble down where the tracks run.”

When asked about how his AgSynergy DR40AL, equipped with the Genesis TRX works with his kind of soil condition, Blasdel replied.

“My soil here is a light sand that is vulnerable to blowing and it works really well to have the residue covering up the ground all the time. We’re back to a normal rain fall here now, but in the last 10 years we’ve been in a terrible drought. Just having that stubble standing up, keeping the ground covered and shaded in the summer has been my saving grace to having enough mois-ture to plant in the fall. So I’m a firm believer in no-till for the moisture conservation and the time savings. My track record for the last 10 years, the only crop that I’ve had enough moisture to grow, is hard red winter wheat. I love this unit. I’m completely sat-isfied with what AgSynergy has done for me. I really think they are on to something.”

Blasdel went on to comment on how well the ground sealed after application. “The seal on the ground is really good. Prior to this when I ran the pre-plant last fall, I had an applicator that wasn’t really made for no-till. Where the residue was heavy, it wanted to ball up on the shanks. I was using it beyond its capacity. I’m excited to use this one where I can go through any kind of residue and not leave a mark behind. I haven’t had any issues with the AgSyn-ergy running in the residue; it has been foolproof.”

Not only can the DR model toolbars provide for a solution for pre-plant application, it can

The National Wild Turkey Federation is extremely excited to bring out their Jakes Take Aim air rifle range and the Wall of Guns to the 61st Annual 3i Show Oct. 8 through 10. Tyler Kirby, NWTF regional director for Western Kansas & Western Texas, partnered with the 3i Show this spring to promote a Hunting & Conservation segment at the 3i Show. Kirby has been promoting the 3i Show at events and to its members. Kirby states, “We look forward to a great show promoting our ‘Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt’ initiative.”

The Jakes Take Aim range is a fantastic tool used to educate and introduce youth and non-hunters to guns. Kids get to have a blast while shooting the Daisy Red Ryder BB guns at turkey targets. The blow-up range has two shooting lanes and allows participants to receive valuable instruction and safety tips on shooting.

The Wall of Guns will also be an attraction at the 3i Show. Show attendees will have a chance to win 10 dif-ferent firearms. This is one way the NWTF can raise valuable funds for projects in the state of Kansas. For every 50 chances sold, the NWTF will give away one gun to a lucky winner. Chances will cost $20 per ticket.

By Meagan CramerIf you aren’t a member of Kansas Farm Bureau, the

state’s largest farm organization, you should consider changing that today. Not only does Kansas Farm Bureau represent grassroots agriculture with a county Farm Bureau in each of Kansas’ 105 counties, they also offer a host of money-saving member benefits.

Dana Pieper and her husband David live and farm in Rooks County. The Piepers have been Farm Bureau members for more than 18 years. Dana says the organiza-tion provides a valuable service to the farming commu-nity and the member benefits are an added perk.

“Not only do you get the member benefits, but you’re also supporting a grassroots agricultural organization that lobbies, advocates and educates on behalf of its hard-working members,” Pieper says.

The benefits can save you money on large and small purchases. For example, members can save $500 when purchasing a new Ford vehicle, $300 to $500 on CASE IH equipment, receive up to 60 percent savings on Grainger products and see savings from cellphone providers like Nex-Tech and Verizon.

Utilizing the benefits is key. The savings quickly out-pace the cost of membership.

“We save $108 a year on our Nex-Tech cellphone bill,” Clara Estes Mull from Ottawa County, says. “The cost to be a member of Ottawa County Farm Bureau Association is only $50 a year.”

If you travel for work or play, consider using the dis-counts on Choice Hotels and Wyndham Hotels. Even a brand-new member can save right away. Just ask Rachel Harman from Ellis County.

“We already had two hotel stays booked for baseball tournaments, but I went online and re-booked with the Kansas Farm Bureau member benefit codes saving our family $114.15.”

With more than 40 benefits, keeping track of them all may seem daunting, but guess what? There is an app for that. Members can download the “FB Benefits” app for Android or Apple phones. It will show you what benefits are close by and keeps a copy of your membership card and number.

“The app is a handy tool for our members,” Debbie Hargrave, director of KFB’s member benefits, says. “It’s easy to set up and can quickly show you what benefits are in your neighborhood, town, county and state.”

If you’re not a member and would like to become one, go to www.kfb.org/join or call 785-587-6114. Current members can view member benefits by installing the ben-efits app, visiting www.kfb.org/memberbenefits or calling the number listed above.

Western Kansas Manufacturers Association, sponsor of the annual 3i Show, and Victory Electric invite the public to daily Electric Safety Dem-onstrations during this year’s 3i Show being held Oct. 8 through 10. Victory Electric Cooperative linemen will host daily power line safety demonstrations in space O-128 using live, high-voltage, true-to-life series of flashes, flames, siz-zles and smoke.

The demonstration is designed to teach students and adults alike about electricity, electrical safety and lightening safety. Because the public is constantly exposed to the many benefits and poten-tial dangers of electrical power, the goal of this program is to help people better understand how electricity provides an

improved way of life and the dangers of electricity when used improperly. Safety is stressed at all times by co-op person-nel who conduct these informative dem-onstrations which are presented in an age-appropriate manner, based upon the viewing audience.

“It has always been extremely impor-tant to us to educate our members about the dangers of power lines and electric-ity as a whole,” said Shane Laws, Victory Electric CEO. “It’s a fun, yet very educa-tional display and really brings to light the safety hazards related to high-voltage power lines.”

The Victory Electric Cooperative Assn., Inc., a member-owned electric dis-tribution cooperative, is headquartered in Dodge City and serves all or parts of

nine counties in southwest Kansas. Vic-tory was organized in 1947 to serve pri-marily farm residential services. Through the years, Victory has expanded to a broad consumer base of diversified loads ranging from industrial, commercial and irrigation loads with 2,700 miles of trans-mission and distribution line. R.l. Wilson, designer of the original portable corral, has once again produced a way for cattle handlers to make their task easier. Seeing the need for yet more efficient cattle handling equipment, he decided to put an idea into action. Thus the “Wing” was born. With its multi use design, the pen expands to a total of 132’, making the long wing. Trans-port length is 43’ long, 81 x 611 wide and the unit weights 8,400 pounds. It is equipped with radial tires, electric brakes and a gooseneck hitch.

The panels can be conformed into three working pat-terns. The “Wing” is the ideal solution for extending the length of paneling available for use on its own or in con-junction with the other Diamond W Corral units. The two side pen configuration with one pen on each side of the gooseneck frame is handy for keeping herd separated while the large rear pen increases capacity by folding the panels to the back of the unit and tying into a Diamond W Corral, keeping cattle all corralled together. Any one of these three options is sure to improve your everyday workings.

Staying with tradition and some enjoyed features of our Diamond W Corral and sorting system, the cage includes a

fold down floor that can also carry a 4-wheeler when needed.Adding to the overall ease of use, the panels are lifted by

a 1,900 pound winch. Even the gooseneck has the added versatility of using a 10,000 pound jack to raise or lower the hitch 9” either way.

Golf carts approved 3i Show transportation

Western Kansas Manufacturers Association, sponsor of the annual 3i Show, has approved the use of golf carts and motorized handi-capped scooters on the outdoor show grounds for the 61st Annual 3i Show in Dodge City, Kansas, Oct. 8 through 10. For the safe-ty of all attendees and exhibitors alike, Gators, ATVs or other utility vehicles will not be allowed in the exhibit area during show hours.

Golf carts may only be operated on the show grounds by individu-als with a valid driver’s license or who are 18 or older, and operators must operate their cart in a safe and prudent manner. Golf carts may not exceed a speed of 5 mph and may not transport more individuals than its number of seats. No rid-ers allowed standing on the back. Golf carts must remain in the aisles without entering or obstructing out-door exhibits. In addition, golf carts must be parked outside the building while visiting indoor exhibits. This includes the dirt side of the building.

Golf carts will be available for rent from Cofer Golf Carts on the show grounds at the show entrance on the West end of the Western State Bank Expo Complex. It is rec-ommended to reserve a golf cart by Oct. 1 for best availability. Golf carts can be reserved by calling Cofer Golf Carts at 620-227-6170 or cell-phone number 620-253-0500.

Attendees may bring their own golf cart if they wish. The purchase

of a permit will be required, and a liability form must be signed. Permits cost $5 for a one-day permit or $12 for a multi-day permit and may be purchased at the main show entrance or in the 3i Show Office in the WSB Expo building upon arrival.

For those requiring mobility assistance inside the building, the

use of wheelchairs will be avail-able. Western Plains Medical Cen-ter, Via Christi and the VFW have donated the use of several wheel-chairs, which can be checked out at the 3i Hats/Buckles table located in the northwest corner of the concrete side of the Western State Bank Expo building.

The Kansas Lions Mobile Screening Unit will be offering free sight, hearing, blood pressure and diabetes testing at the 3i Show in Dodge City, Kan-sas, on Oct. 8, 9 and 10 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. The MSU will be located outside in space 120. Included will be a Vision Screener used to test children from about 6 months of age to preschool age

and older. Other vision screeners will test adults.

Everyone in Southwest Kan-sas and beyond is invited to come for the free screenings in the MSU. Just show up while the MSU

is open, register and come inside for the different

screenings. Results of tests will be given to each person who is tested, and those results can then be taken to the appropriate medical professional.

Kansas Lions purchased the Vision Screener to use for children from 6 months through pre-school age and older. This screener looks into the eyes through the pupils and sees problems

before they become apparent to the parents. Since young children do not know how they should be seeing, their sight can be quite blurry or irregular, forcing them to cope in other ways and fooling the parents into think-ing their children see normally. The Vision Screener detects serious eye diseases and problems that then can be treated by optometrists and oph-thalmologists who specialize in such eye diseases and problems. It does not require much in the way of the infant’s or child’s cooperation—all they need to do is look at the Vision Screener.

Many eye problems and seri-ous sight-robbing diseases begin in infancy or early childhood. While it is estimated that approximately 5

percent to 10 percent of all children experience sight-robbing vision problems, just 14 percent of U.S. children 6 and younger see an eye

doctor for testing. By the time they are 4 years of age, it can already be too late to stop or reverse the dam-age eye diseases are doing.

The United Wireless Mobile Store will be on-site at the 2015 3i Show to feature the company’s mobile phones and wireless router.

“Communication products are an essential part of a successful farming or ranching operation,” said Jeff Renner, sales and marketing manager. “The 3i Show gives us the opportunity to showcase cutting-edge technology to meet the needs of farmers and ranchers here in southwest Kansas.”

Rural communities increasingly rely on fast and dependable Internet access, and the company’s router provides Wi-Fi broadcast capability for con-nectivity with wireless devices, plus a built-in eth-ernet port.

“United Wireless’ 4G/LTE Internet for the home and office gives our customers a simple, reliable option for their high-speed Internet service in areas where high-speed service may not be available from any other provider,” Renner said.

The router and select cellphones will be available for purchase at special prices during the show. Rep-resentatives will also be on-hand to answer ques-tions about United Wireless products and service plans, including how to select the right plan based on usage.

Western Kansas Manufactur-ers Association, sponsor of the 61st Annual 3i Show, is excited to announce Dixie Chopper will be hosting a Ride and Drive this year in their outdoor exhibit spaces O-180, 182 and 184. The Ride and Drive with Dixie Chopper will allow show goers to test drive Dixie Chopper zero-turn lawn mowers around a race track. This is a great opportunity for those interested in purchasing zero-turn equipment to demo prod-uct and experience the speed and power of a Dixie Chopper mower.

In addition to the Ride and Drive, Dixie Chopper will have various zero-turns ranging in resi-dential, commercial and industrial size on display. Representatives from Dixie Chopper will be onsite to answer product questions, give demonstrations and hand out vari-ous giveaways.

To learn more about Dixie Chop-per and view the complete line-up of zero-turn lawn mowers, visit the company’s website at www.dixiechop-per.com.
