STANDARD PROGRESS OF CRS IN ITU
Introduction
This document is to report the standard progress of CRS and SDR in ITU-R.
ITU-R WP 5A
The meeting of Working Party (WP) 5A was held in Geneva, from 7 to 17 November 2016.
WP 5A received a liaison statement from WP 1B seeking WP 5A’s comment on WP 1B’s working document towards a preliminary draft new Report ITU-R SM.[CRS SPECTRUM MANAGEMENT CHALLENGES]. WP 5A-5 reviewed the WP 1B’s working document and developed a reply liaison statement conveying that WP 5A has no comment at this time (Document 5A/TEMP/80).
ITU-R WP1B
The meeting of Working Party (WP) 1B was held in Geneva, from 23 to 30 November 2016.
A Sub-Working Group (SWG 1B-1-CRS), chaired by Mr. Emmanuel Faussurier, was established to consider the input documents 1B/69 (WP 4A), 1B/74 (WP 7C), 1B/76 (WP 7D), 1B/89 (RUS), 1B/96 (KOR), 1B/105 (WP 5C), 1B/111 & 1B/112 (WP 5A).
WP 1B considered the working document towards a preliminary draft new Report ITU-R SM.[CRS SPECTRUM MANAGEMENT CHALLENGES] and amended it as appropriate. Some administrations suggested to elevate the status of the working document to “preliminary draft new Report, however some other administrations did not agree with this suggestion. It was agreed not to elevate its status at this meeting with the understanding that WP 1B has the intention to elevate it to a PDN Report at the next WP 1B meeting in June 2017. The amended version of the working document is given in Annex 19 of this Chairman’s Report (source: Doc. 1B/TEMP/59).Since there were only a few contributions at this meeting on this topic, administrations are encouraged to make contributions to the next WP 1B meeting.
WP 1B also developed a LS to various WPs informing about the amendment made to the working document. The LS can be found in Document 1A/148–1C/64–4A/230–4C/134–5A/318–5B/214–5C/197–5D/416–6A/191–7B/125–7C/103–7D/74 (source: Doc. 1B/TEMP/58).
