Christmas Message In a funny way it seems odd writing a Christmas message on a bulletin for 26th December, but as we are in the Octave of Christmas i.e. the 8 days from Christmas Day through to New Years Day, we get to celebrate everyday as Christmas Day! When we began 2021 it was with the hope that the global pandemic would come to an end and that we would be back to ‘normal’ this Christmas. Whilst we have the joy of being together again for Christmas, we face the reality of the pandemic and restrictions returning this weekend. For places of worship this includes the reintroduction of 2 metre social distancing severely limiting the capacity of our churches. However, we cannot and must not let this dampen our joy this Christmas season - things could be worse. As we reflect upon the image of the infant Jesus laying in the manger, let us not forgot his great promise to us that “I am with you always, even unto the end of the world” (Mt 28:20) There is no form of isolation or restriction that can truly separate us from Christ who is our joy, our hope and our salvation. The birth of Jesus is the most powerful sign and message of hope in a world of fear and uncertainty. As a team we wish to extend our thanks to the teams of volunteers who have worked tirelessly to help reopen our churches and keep everyone safe. A tremendous amount of work and effort is required in these times to fulfil the requirements laid upon us by the Welsh Government. Thanks also to all of your patience, kindness and support in what are challenging times for all involved. May we all continue in patience and charity as restrictions return once again. As always we wish to thank you for your kindness, generosity and support through the cards and gifts we have received, and also for your generosity with the traditional Christmas Offering. With continued assurance of our prayers this Christmas and for the New Year:

Of your charity …. This week we received the sad news that Margaret Reynish a former longstanding parishioner at St. Mary’s was called home by the Lord. Please keep her and her family in your prayers at this time. May she rest in peace.
