DESCRIPTION

25th Bi-annual Meet held by Amity School of Distance Learning (ASoDL)Amity School of Distance Learning held its 25th Biannual Meet at Amity Campus, Sector – 44, Noida on 11th March 2012. The meet witnessed heavy crowd which further indicated the importance of distance education not only for freshers but also for the professionals.The occasion was graced by Prof. M Aslam, Vice Chancellor, IGNOU who expressed his happiness at the standard of presentation and meeting with the students of Amity School of Distance Learning. He gave the relevance of distance education and the necessity of hard work. Welcoming the new entrants, Maj Gen (Dr.) Surendar Kumar, Chairman-ASoDL inspired them for “aiming high in life, working hard, keeping their spirits high and never giving up”. Other dignitaries from the Industry like Mr. Adarsh Agarwal, CEO, I-energizer Noida, Mr. Sekhar Sahay, Director (HR) Ericsson and Mr. N P S Rana, Vice President (HR) Motherson Sumi System Ltd., also motivated the students to work hard and work smart for achieving success in life.Prof. (Col.) Rajive Kohli Ph. D, Director-ASoDL, Mr. Abhinash Kumar Dy. Director, Mr. Harish Kumar Dy. Director (Academics) and Mr. Alok Awtans Asst. Director apprised the students about the conduct of distance learning programmes to enable them to successfully complete their chosen programme.

ASoDL is conscious of regular interaction between the Industry and the Institution. All our programmes are structured to keep the requirement of Industry in mind. To this end we are ensuring closer tie ups with Industry.

You will be happy to note that today we have achieved a number of Industry ASoDL tie ups with Industries like:-

– Ericsson India Ltd– American Express– FCI– Keane India– Wipro– HCL Technology

and many more are in the pipe line like IBM, Tech. Mahindra, I Energizer, R System, GAIL, SAIL, Coal India, NFL, NHPC, Dabur, IDEA and CSIR.

A customized programme “Diploma in Business Management” has been developed for FCI. This programme is being conducted for all batches who come as a trainees to FCI. Approx. 131 students have qualified on this programme.

A student is expected to choose the programme very carefully. Normally a programme once selected is difficult to change.

As a word of advice if change is to effected it should be done in the 1st Semester only.

Any queries of the students is recorded, investigated on priority and normally responded within 3-4 days. Under no circumstance students’ problem is left unattended at any level.

A meeting to this effect is also held daily to coordinate responses. To further streamline the system you are requested while raising your problem gives all your credentials like: Roll No., Batch, programme, Tel. No. email etc. and address the queries to the concerned person.

It is expected that the student enrolled in a centre will remain the student of that particular centre unless he/she is formally allowed to do so. For this you need to obtain a formal approval from the competent authority.

Amity does not confined in Academic only but equal emphasis given to extra curricular rigorous activities.

To provide an opportunity amongst the youth studying in Amity Institutions of Higher Education to participate in healthy sports competitions Sangathan was initiated in the year 1999.

It culminates on the Birth Day of our Founder President Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan on 24th October every year.

Many of you would like to participate in this. Kindly forward your name to Shri Alok Awtans, Assistant Director also Sports Officer.

You will be happy to know that ASoDL has been Crecket Champian for last two consecutive years.

Once you join the Amity, you are an Amitian for life. You will be happy to know that we are progressing with the Alumni Association for ASoDL. It is proposed that the students passed out the programme must inform ASoDL regularly of their professional achievements. You too will be intimated about the general information and achievement time to time.

Project report is an important subject in all management programme and every students is required to submit a project synopsis & project report on a subject of his/her own choice

It is an outline plan of conducting the study. Students are advised to refer their SSM (ADL-20) particularly the sample Project Report with its approved synopsis. They must present their synopsis in the correct format and follow the instructions given in the study material.

This is the main report of your chosen project and follows the field work and analysis of data. The report is required to be presented in prescribed format specified in your Synopsisis

On successful evaluation of Project Report, the student is required to undergo a viva voce. The viva would preferably be to face process. However, telephonic viva may be conducted in rare cases when a student can not come to his centre due to his/her professional commitments or location in operational area in case of defence/police personnel.

Note :1. Students are advised to keep a copy of the project report

with them and also bring it along for the viva.

2. As you submit your Synopsis/ Project Report by due date it will be processed timely and marks will be reflected on your mark sheet along with others
