Event Overview The principal aim of the Congress is to establish an interactive intelligence sharing platform for local and international healthcare professionals to meet and discuss fresh strategies for future quality improvements and implementable best practice in the Middle East. Improving patient safety standards is fundamental to improving quality of care and Patient Safety & Quality Congress Middle East will explore ways the region can cultivate a patient safety culture through proactive practice. The event will bring together regional and international leaders to showcase evidence based-solutions for improving patient safety.

Poster Zone

At the Congress we will be hosting the first ever poster exhibition, showcasing key examples of the most innovative patient safety projects taking place in the Middle East region. Our poster display area at the conference will allow you to view some of the most innovative projects and learn more about regional successes. You can submit your very own success story: Step 1: Submit a short description to begin the submission process The deadline for entries is: Wednesday 30 January 2013 We will consider the entries looking for examples of innovation, joint working, and proven outcomes.

Step2: Judging with the Advisory Board and confirmation Judging on the abstract submissions will take place in the first week of February 2013, in partnership with the events Scientific Advisory Committee. Once your poster entry is accepted, we will inform you via email, and the full list of entries will be published on the Patient Safety & Quality Congress Middle East Website. We will need to finalise how much space we will need for the posters at the event and would like to confirm that you or your team will still be able to attend and present your poster. Step 3: Register To present your poster; you will need to register as a delegate. However, to thank you for your participation, we are happy to extend a 25% discount to the advertised rate. We will give you the code to claim this discount when we accept your poster.

Step 4: Designing your poster Posters should be A1 size and contain the following details

o Name of poster presentation o Logo of organisation o 100 word summary o Main text body - max 500 words (we recommend splitting into two different text

boxes – 250 words each) o 2 or 3 pictures or graphs/figures o Contact details

There is some flexibility in format, but please try to keep within the word limits.

Step 5: Printing Poster presenters are responsible for printing their own posters. Please take this into consideration while planning and working on your poster. Once printed, you can either post your poster to the venue (details will follow) or bring it with you on the day.

Step 6: Presenting The poster presentations will be an attraction for visitors and delegates of the conference. You will have a card next to your poster and you may state which times you are available. Each poster will also be assigned a code and visitors and delegates will be able to text in and vote for their favourite poster.

The winning entry for each category will be announced at lunch on day one of the Congress, and will win a special prize!
