How many factors are there in 125000 ?

First find out all the factors in 125000. These are 2*2*2*5*5*5*5*5*5

We have 3 two and 6 fives. The formulae is (n+1)(N+1)-1 =(3+1)(6+1)-1 =28-1 = 27 answer.

If 20 workers have completed ½ of the work working together 6 hours a day in 10 days. If I want them to complete the rest of the work in only 1 more day working 16 hours a day, should I hire additional workers, if yes, how many more?

I have to identify number of workers. Right now 20 workers are working so start with this. From6 to 16 hours of work – so multiply by 6/16, multiply by 10/1 because, we had 10 days earlier, but now we have only 1 day.

20*6/16*10/1 = 1200/16= 75, so we have to appoint 55 more workers. Answer.

One person can complete a work in 10 days, another can do it in 25 days, in how many days will they complete the work working together?

First worker works 1/10 in a day. Second worker works 1/25 in a work. Let us add them together:

1/10 +1/25 = 35/250 Now reverse it : 250/35 = 7 days

A boy multiplies 987 by a certain number and obtains 559981 as his answer. If in the answer both 9 are wrong, but the other digits are correct, the correct answer will be :

The number must be divisible by 987. only C option gives you the number which is exactly divisible by 987, thus this is the answer.

Find the greatest number which will divide 590, 908, and 1014 and leave same remainder in each case?

Find the gap between 590 and 908, it is 318. find gap between 908 and 1014, this gap is 106. now find LCM of 106 and 318 this is 106. thus 106 is the answer.

What is the value of the expression: (5^50+5^49)/(5^51-5^50)?

This is a question on ratio. The ratio of the numbers move in fixed proportion. Let us take (5^3+5^2)/(5^4-5^3)?

(125+25)/(625-125) =150/500 = 3/10 Same ratio holds good for all such

calculations, so answer is 3/10 ans.

Find the least number, which when divided by 5,6,7,8 leave a remainder 3, but when divided by 9 leave no remainder?

Let us find LCM of 5,6,7,8. The LCM is : 5*2*3*7*4 = 840.

The possible numbers are : (840+3) = 843 or (840*2 +3) = 1683 or (840*3 +3) = 2523 ..

Now we find that 843 is not divisible by 9, so this is the answer.

Find the least multiple of 23, which when divided by 18,21 and 24 leave remainder of 7,10 and 13 respectively?

The difference of 18 and 7 is 11, difference of 21 and 10 is also 11 and the difference of 24 and 13 is also 11.

First find LCM of 18, 21 and 24. the LCM is : 2*3*3*7*4=504. Now try its different multiples, 504,1008,1512,2016 and so on. Now deduct 11 from all these: we get : 493, 997, 1501, 2005, 2509, 3013, . . Now out of these 3013 is divisible by23, so this si the answer.

One person charges 20% depreciation on an asset. He had purchased an asset 3 years back. The book value is now 61440, what was the purchase price of the asset.

An asset of Rs. 100 will be 80 after one year and (80-16) = 64 after 2 years and (64-12.8) = 51.2 after 3 years. Thus the original value of asset was:

61440*100/51.2 = 120000 answer.
