President's Handbook
2
North Carolina Association of
Educational Office Professionals, Inc.
To My NCAEOP Family,
I bring you greetings as your 21 – 22 NCAEOP President. The theme for the new year is,
“Connecting, One Piece at a Time.”
To my predecessor, thank you for bringing me along on this journey. I have been inspired by
your leadership.
Although we may not work in the same building, district, or the same county, we are connected.
We all bring individual and collective pieces to a puzzle to make this organization a beautiful
picture. A picture that shows what NCAEOP is all about. The most important pieces are our
children. We strive each day to support, nurture, and educate them. We all take on the role of
mother, father, counselor, nurse, and so much more for our children.
There are so many words that describe an EOP: dedicated, motivated, resourceful, caring,
enthusiastic, determined and many more. Your individual attributes and our influences as a
team are also pieces of the puzzle that our administrators depend on day in and day out.
My theme, “Connecting, One Piece at a Time”, means just that, we will connect on all levels,
one piece at a time. I look forward to working with each of you. We will embrace the service,
integrity, and skill that NCAEOP is all about.
Thank you in advance for your commitment and your will to serve NCAEOP.
Marie

Code of Ethics
Service
Educational Office Professionals should exalt their profession on all occasion s and
sincerely strive for a finer and more efficient service to the school and community.
Integrity
Educational Office Profession ls should be courteous, just and professional in all their
relations with
Administrators, office personnel, pupil s, teachers and other visitors to the office.
Educational Office Professionals should not disclose any information of a confidential
nature and should not do or say anything that would cause them to lose the confidence
and respect of others. They should avoid voicing unfavorable criticism of other school
employees unless that criticism is formally presented to a school official for the welfare
of the school.
Educational Office Professionals should recognize and perform duties of citizenship and
should be loyal to the school system, the state and the nation.
Educational Office Professionals should refrain from the use of pressure on school
officials to secure a promotion or to obtain favors for other people.
Skill
Educational Office Professionals should perform their duties with dispatch and accuracy.
Educational Office Professionals should maintain their own efficiency by study, by
travel and by other means which keep them abreast of the trends in educational and
business practices.
Educational office Professionals should make the office a congenial place for all
without allowing it to become a social center.
Educational Office Professionals should practice the qualities which promote good
human relations and good public relations: cheerfulness, honesty, tack, understanding,
patience and good judgment.
“Ethics is knowing the difference between what you have a right to do and what is right to do.”
