2020 SPRING WESTERN KOREA DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY

Day 1: Thur, May 07 – HONOLULU. Depart Honolulu.

Day 2: Fri, May 08 – SEOUL. Arrive Incheon, South Korea. After entry formalities, transfer to your hotel in Seoul. Enjoy a bento for dinner. LOTTE CITY HOTELS MYEONGDONG (2 Nights) (D)

Day 3: Sat, May 09 – SEOUL. After breakfast, enjoy a spa day with a 60 minute facial or body massage. DDP Plaza is a large urban development project in Dongdaemun that includes a park, exhibition spaces, and restored parts of the Seoul Fortress. Ever since its opening in 1905, Dongdaemun Market has been one of the major markets in Korea. Specializing in wholesale clothing, the market has grown large, having more than 20 shopping malls. Enjoy shopping! Insadong Antique Street: Is where you can experience the traditional culture of Korea while remaining in the heart of the city. With art galleries, traditional craft stores, antique art dealers, traditional tea houses and restaurants, it is simply the place in Seoul for tourists wanting to experience traditional Korea. Day 4: Sun, May 10 – SEOUL – CHEONGNAMDAE – GONGJU – GWANGJU. Gongju National Museum: Gongju National Museum is dedicated to preserving, studying, and celebrating the extensive history and culture of its region, at the center of Chungcheongnamdo. The museum serves as a contemporary cultural space providing education, entertainment, and an open, relaxing atmosphere for visitors. King Muryeong’s Tomb: The Tomb of King Muryeong, also known as Songsanri Tomb No. 7, is the ancient tumulus of King Muryeong, who ruled the Baekje Kingdom from 501 to 523, and his queen. Jeonju Hanok Village: Jeonju Hanok Village has 700 traditional Korean houses, Hanok that are still home to residents today. Hanok Village is the best preserved living traditional village. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Korea. HOLIDAY INN GWANGJU (2 Nights) (B, L, D)

Day 5: Mon, May 11 – GWANGJU – SUNCHEON – BOSEONG – GWANGJU. Naganeupseong Folk Village: Naganeupseong is the only remaining Joseon dynasty castle in Jeollanamdo. Surrounding the well preserved castle are 100 homes where families still reside. Boseong Tea Field: The rolling green fields of Boseong have been used as the backdrop for many movies and TV miniseries in Korea. The endless green vista, treelined roads with cedars and nearby Yulpo Seashore provide visitors with great views and plenty to do. Try your hand at making your very own colorful Korean mulberry paper fan. Try on traditional Korean costumes. Experience a tea ceremony followed by a tea tasting session. (B, L, D)

Day 6: Tue, May 12 – GWANGJU – GOCHANG – NONSAN – CHEONGJU. Seonunsa Temple: Seonunsa Buddhist temple is the head temple of 24th parish in the Korean Jogye order Buddhism which is located in Mt. Dosol of Gochang county, Jeonra north province. The temple name ‘Seonun’ means “the place where an ascetic devotee practicing seon (zen) meditation with the evening cloud which dwells in the blazing red of the setting sun. Visit a local farm and try your hand at picking some delicious fruit. HOTEL CHEONGJU RAMADA PLAZA (1 Night) (B, L, D)

Day 7: Wed, May 13 – CHEONGJU – SUWON – SEOUL. Korean Folk Village: A living museum that recreates the lifestyles of past centuries. There are potters, weavers, blacksmiths, and other artisans who practice their trades in traditional fashion. There are also 260 traditional houses and a small amphitheater for folk music and dance performance. Korean Drama fans! Next, a visit to KBS Drama Center Suwon Center! This is the mecca of high quality drama production. It encompasses a wide range of the latest facilities including production, make-up, convenient facilities and open set, set for special effect and more. Day 8: Thur, May 14 – SEOUL. Blue House: The Blue House is the executive office and official residence of the South Korean head of state, the President of the Republic of Korea and located in the capital city of Seoul. Gyeongbok Palace: The 40-acre Gyeongbok Palace was built in 1394, the third year of the Joseon Dynasty. Geunjungjon, the largest and most impressive building in the palace, served as a throne room and an audiencehall. Gyeonghoeru, a spacious two-story pavilion, overlooks a picturesque man-made pond just northwest of the throne hall. Gwangjang Market is the nation’s first market and continues to thrive today. We will sample freshly prepared seafood pancakes and Kimbap (Korean sushi). Namdaemun Market: located in the very center of Seoul, is the largest traditional market in Korea selling clothing, shoes, housewares, foodstuff, flowers, tools, wigs, glasses, accessories of every kind, gifts, sporting goods, electric appliances, furniture etc. Jjimjilbang-Korean Spa: A place where one can enjoy the spa, shower, and sauna. They are a popular getaway for Korean families, couples, and friends. You can enter various heated rooms each designed with a particular theme. You will also find many recreational facilities such as a snack bar and fitness club. (No need to wear swimsuits. The Jimjilbang provides guests with clothes and towels.)
