Welcome to Sisters Arts Association’s Fourth Annual Artist Studio Tour. This year, due to COVID-19, we will be following public health guidelines. That means wearing masks, sanitizing hands and using appropriate social distancing. Local health authorities have approved this event and we are asking all visitors to follow these simple guidelines.

Studios are open to the public on Saturday and Sunday, September 26 and 27, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. This is a self-guided tour for all methods of transportation. Artists may limit the number of indoor visitors at times, but everyone is welcome.

This year, 36 artists are participating, and they will demonstrate and sell their art in 26 studio locations in and around Sisters, including Tumalo, Eagle Crest, and rural Redmond. Some studios will feature more than one artist, making it easier on visitors to get around and speak with more of our local talent.

Our artists are looking forward to meeting you. This tour guide will help you learn about the artists and find their studios. Each artist’s medium and studio location is shown in the guide, and the proximity maps let you know where to find each studio. Use your GPS and watch for the blue-and-white roadside signs with red arrows, directing the way to each studio. Dress relaxed, wear comfortable shoes, and pay attention to the weather – a sweater or jacket and a hat may be needed as fall is here and temperatures can change quickly.

Artists’ studios are as varied as their creative talents. Some spaces are modern and spacious and others are intimate, rustic, or quirky. Some studios are designed to incorporate teaching space while others are more individual workspaces. As you visit, be prepared for an adventure. Ask the artists what they do, how they do it, and what inspires them. And, by all means, be prepared to support them by purchasing their work. This is a rare and special opportunity to purchase directly from the artists.

About the Sisters Arts AssociationThe Sisters Arts Association was formed in 2015 by a group of volunteer artists and supporters who believe that the arts are an important part of a healthy community, culture and commerce. Up until the coronavirus struck, the SAA sponsored monthly Artwalks through the galleries of Sisters. The organization advocates for public art, arts in education, and support for one another in the arts. You don’t have to be an artist to join. How The Maps WorkNumbers and names go together. Just locate the number in the red block opposite the artist’s name.

Then find the number on the area map that corresponds to the artist. That will give you a general idea about how to navagate to the artist’s studio. If you plan to visit several studios, you can use the maps to plan a route that connects the studios in the most effecient manner possible.

Studio addresses are on the page that features the artist you want to visit. If you are not familiar with the area, just set your GPS to the address and head to the studio. Watch for the road signs to help you get to your destinations.

Artists’ studios are not generally open to the public during the year. However, you can see work by these artists and many others by visiting the many galleries in Sisters any day of the week. Pick up a Gallery Map at any one of the locations below. COVID-19 Public Health Standards, including masks, hand sanitizing and six foot distancing, are observed in all galleries.
