Why a solar dehydrator?THE DRYING PROCESS REMOVES WATER FROM FOOD

PRODUCT INHIBITING THE ACTIVITY OF ENZYMES AND

MICROORGANISMS WHICH PRESERVE THE DRIED PRODUCT.

For high quality products choose sunny weather and a dust free

drying area. The drying trays should also be placed on a frame-

work at table height from the ground to allow for free air circulation

around the product being dried and avoid contamination by dust,

insects and domestic animals. The product being dried should be

turned over at least once an hour during the first part of the drying

process to make the product dry faster, evenly and the prevent it from

sticking together. Solar drying products should be prepared early in

the day to maximize the full effects of sun drying during the early the

early stages of drying. At night place the stacked trays in a ventilated

room covered with canvas.
