HOUSE AND GENERAL RULES

DRESS:Men and Ladies are requested to take pride in the Club and maintain a responsible standard in respect to their attire in the Club house and on the course. All members are requested to read the dress regulations displayed in the Club house foyer.

SUBSCRIPTIONS:Subscriptions are due by 1st September. Any member whose subscription is in arrears shall be debarred from all Club privileges.

COMPLAINTS:All complaints shall be made to the President, Captain or Chief Executive Officer of the Club, who, if unable to satisfy them, shall submit them to the General Golf Committee. If it needs referral to the General Golf Committee, the complaint must be in writing so as to avoid misinterpretation.

MEMBERS’ RESPONSIBILITY:It is a Member’s responsibility to know and observe the rules of the Club. It should also be realised that a member assumes responsibility for any visitor introduced to the Club by that member. All players must report to Pro Shop before commencing any round of golf.

MEMBERS’ GUESTS/PLAYING VISITORS: The following conditions apply with the introduction of Members’ guests who are playing visitors: a) A member shall not introduce more than two playing

visitors on any one occasion; b) A member must play with his or her visitor or visitors; c) No person shall be introduced as a member guest playing

visitor on more than five occasions in any one calendar year; d) A member introducing a visitor or guest to the Club

must do so in person at Pro Shop. e) A member shall not knowingly introduce as a visitor

any person whose name has been expunged from the Register of Members of the Club, or who has been refused admission to membership of the Club or any other Club.

NOTE: The above will not apply to Club Tournaments (see also by-law 5 of the Company Constitution re: local visitors).

ADVERSE WEATHER POLICY:The Adverse Weather Policy addresses issues of extreme heat, lightning, strong winds and also the need to suspend play when greens become unplayable due to heavy rain or other circumstances. The full Policy can be viewed on the Club Notice Board or at the Pro Shop.

CONDITIONS OF MEN’S COMPETITIONS1. COMPETITIONS: The Committee shall arrange and control all competitions

and matches in consultation with the Director of Golf and their decision on all points connected therewith shall be final. Changes to the syllabus may occur if needed.

2. MONTHLY MEDAL: Monthly Medal to be played for on the day allotted

each month off the Blue Markers. The lowest net score returned by a golfing member on that day shall be the Medal winner. In the event of a tie between two or more players, the count back system will be used to determine the winner.

3. PLAYER OF THE MONTH & PLAYER OF THE YEAR AWARDS:

Points will be accrued on the basis of results in the Club Golfing Competitions with a Club Voucher awarded each month to the Men’s and Ladies player of the month. A prize for the Player of the Year will be awarded at Presentation Night.

4. STAR MEDAL: The Star Medallist shall be played on the day allotted.

Winners of the Monthly Medal for the current year shall be eligible to play for the Star Medal. In the event of a tie the winner will be decided by the count back system.

5. THE CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP:

The Club Championship is a gross event (played without handicap) and is open to all TGBC male golfing members. The championships will be played over four (4) rounds of stroke play on the days allotted to the event. In the event of a tie all grades will be decided by a hole by hole sudden death playoff, order of holes to be decided by the committee.

• Tee times available to men on the first three (3) days of the championship.

• The top four players of each division Men & Women to be seeded on the final day.

• Scratch winners not eligible for overall handicap events.

• Daily events conducted in conjunction with the championships all three (3) divisions.

• All scratch winners Men & Ladies receive complimentary entry into the Tocumwal Open or Tocumwal Senior Event.

6. CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFYING CONDITIONS:

Championship events are open to all TGBC male golfing members who have completed six (6) or more rounds in 18 hole individual or representative (e.g. Pennant) events (not fourball, ambrose or nine (9) hole events) in the period immediately after the completion of the previous Club championship and prior to the commencement of the first round of the Club championship qualifying event in the following year.

Minor Championships to be played in three (3) divisions using the players current Daily Handicap on the day of the first round of the championships.

Division 1 Up to 14 Overall Gross / Net Division 2 15 – 21 Overall Gross / Net Division 3 22 & Above Overall Gross / Net

7. GLOBAL ACCREDITATION SERVICES MIXED FOURSOMES CHAMPIONSHIP:

Mixed Foursomes knockout play is open to all TGBC male and female golfing members. A qualifying round will be by payment of $20 which includes your competition fee. The qualifying round will be played on Saturday 7th March 2020 with the top eight pairs to qualify for match play competition.

For the match play competition half (½) the difference in aggregate handicaps will apply with a limit of 18 strokes (where a half shot difference occurs the handicap shall be round up). In the event of a tie after 18 holes, match to continue hole by hole, with handicap, until a decision is reached. Matches to be played on the dates specified in the syllabus. Men will play from BLUE PLATES and tee off on odd numbered holes, ladies will play from RED PLATES and tee off on even numbered holes.

8. TONY BALDWIN MEMORIAL SHIELD - 4BBB STABLEFORD:

Tony Baldwin Memorial Shield play will be a 4BBB Stableford and open to all TGBC male golfing members. A qualifying round will be by payment of an entry fee of $20 which includes your competition fee. The qualifying round will be on Sunday 29th March 2020 and the top eight pairs will qualify for Match play knockout.

The difference between handicaps will apply with a limit of 18 strokes. Lowest handicap player of each match will play off scratch and strokes received will be calculated from that mark. In the event of a tie after 18 holes, match will continue hole by hole with handicap until a decision is reached. Matches to be played on the dates specified in the syllabus. Each match must be played from the BLUE PLATES.

9. THE N & V WILSON TROPHY - FOURSOMES CHAMPIONSHIP:

The N & V Wilson 27 Hole Foursomes Championship is open to all TGBC male golfing members. In the event of a tie in the Gross event, a sudden death playoff will occur on holes nominated by the Committee. Net event will be decided by the countback system.

10. SINGLES KNOCKOUT: Play will be stroke and is open to all TGBC male golfing

members. A qualifying round will be by payment of an entry fee of $20 which includes your competition fee. The qualifying round will be played on Sunday 2nd August 2020 with the top eight (8) to qualify for Match Play competition. The difference between handicaps of the players shall apply with a limit of 18 strokes. In the event of a tie after 18 holes’ match shall continue hole by hole until a decision is reached. Matches to be played on the dates specified in the syllabus. Each match must be from the BLUE PLATES.

11. Players are to report to the starter at least 15 minutes prior to their starting time.

13. 4BBB EVENTS: Players without a partner shall be issued with a

scorecard upon which this player’s score for each hole shall be recorded by one of the other members of the group. The player shall be responsible for the return of the card in accordance with Rule 6.6. By lot, draw players who are without partners to form a side/s in the competition even though they are playing in a different group. Compile Fourball scorecards for each side formed in this manner from the scores recorded on the individual scorecards. In the event of a further player still not having been allocated a partner under the above procedure, the player will be paired with the lowest handicap player in their group and a score generated from this in such a case only the previously unpartnered player is eligible to receive a prize won by this pair.

PLAYING ETIQUETTE1. Inspect the Notice Board before start of play for

temporary local rules and other information.

2. It is the imperative duty (and it should be made a matter of pride) for all to see that divots are covered with sand and that the footprints in bunkers are made smooth and pitch marks on greens are repaired.

3. Bunker rakes should be placed in the middle of bunkers, lying in direction of play.

4. Players searching for a lost ball should promptly call the following players through, and having done this, should stand aside until these players have passed and are out of range.

5. Players should pick up as soon as a hole is lost in par or a point cannot be scored in Stableford.

6. When the result of a hole has been determined, players must leave the greens before marking their cards.

7. The putter head is not to be used to retrieve a ball from the hole.

8. Each player will be responsible for the observance of the rules and etiquette of the game.

9. Motorised buggies to be kept at least 10 metres clear of greens.

10. Slow play can be a great annoyance to following players. It is the duty of the lowest handicapper in a party to ensure that the party is never more than three quarters of a hole behind the preceding players, except for Par 3 holes. Penalties for slow play can be imposed (See Rule 6-7) and after suitable warning, will be imposed.

NOTE: Players should not play their shot until all players in the group ahead are out of their range.

11. Your place in the field is behind the group in front, not in front of the group behind.

12. Ground staff have right of way on the course at all times. Please await signal to proceed.

13. Scorecards must be processed within 15 minutes of completing your round.

2. CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP: 3 Stroke play rounds - In the event of a tie all grades

One 54-hole trophy per person – gross takes precedence. Championship events are open to all TGBC female

9. PRESIDENT’S TROPHY: Aggregate of best 6 net scores during Tuesday. Handicap

play off in the 5th and final round. Lowest net score wins the spoon. Spoon winner will be eligible to play for a case of spoons at the State Final on a date to be confirmed.

15. DORIS CHAMBERS CUP: 18 holes Foursomes stableford - Winning pair in each

Club to compete in the final, at a course to be determined

16. JADE PUTTER: Donated by Jill Collins. Aggregate of the 6 best Stableford

scores to count. To be played on Tuesdays, November through to February. Open to TGBC golfing members only.

17. THE MATCH COMMITTEE HAS THE POWER TO ALTER ANY COMPETITION AT ANY TIME

Players are expected to report to the starter at least 15 minutes prior to their starting time and be prepared to move up if required by the starter. Pro shop must be notified of all cancellations prior to commencement of event. Please ensure score card is processed within 15 minutes of completion of round.
