How to Use Daily Language Review

This book is divided into 36 weekly sections. Each weekly unit provides daily assessment activities.

Monday through Thursday

• Students edit sentences and make corrections to punctuation, capitalization, and grammar.

• Students complete items that practice a variety of language and reading skills.

Friday

• Students focus on practicing a single skill.

• Students complete a daily progress record that tracks their work for the week.

Hints and Suggestions

Customize the daily review lessons to meet the needs of your class.

• Look ahead each week at the skills being practiced. If you encounter a new skill, complete the item as a class.

• Correct students’ work together to model the correct responses.

• As skills are repeated throughout the year, monitor students’ mastery.
