To keep the texture looking good, I am requiring you to turn at the end of the rounds. This will keep the seam-line directly on the fold of the bottom of the footsie.

Sizing

I’ve designed this for me. I’m 5’ 11”. I’m too tall for an av-erage 60” throw as I like to tuck in my feet into the blanket and there’s not enough length for that. The pocket area allows you to tuck in your feet without worry of your feet peeking out.You can reduce the length to match your own needs. If you change the length of the Footsie Blanket, it will change your yarn needs.

Foot Pocket = 12” Deep x 23” WideOpen Blanket Area = 54” Long x 46” WideTotal Length = 66” long

Chair / Wheelchair Blanket

Sit in a chair and measure from tip of toes with feet flat. Follow the contour of the foot to knee and then to waist. That is your total length you need.

Total Length - 12” Deep Pocket = Open Blanket Length

For myself, I need 42” - 12” = 30” Open Blanket Length

1 sc in each st toward the top of the footsie pocket. Fasten off.

Pattern Notes:

I was close to running out of yarn for the final row trim using Almond. If you make your footsie any longer, you may run out of yarn for the final trim.

I had enough Vintage White left over to end the blanket another 4 - 5” longer if I needed it. For any longer than that, I would recommend and extra ball.

If you wanted the Open Blanket to be Wider

Get the height you need first. Then, you can apply the same moss stitching along the inside open flap. Just go back and forth across. Add the same number of rows to both sides and then apply the trim. You will need more yarn if you need to make the blanket wider.

If You Want to Make this A Double Wide

Ch 108 to start. You will need double the amount of yarn. Fol-low pattern as written.
