Systems Engineering in a Digital World, A state of Play
The digital revolution is changing almost every aspect of our work and our lives. Consequently, Systems Engineering as is more and more integrated in a digital environment. What are the implications, how well is it applied and what may the future look like? For this National Speakers session, hosted in Sydney, and broadcasted to state capitals in Australia, we have invited 3 speakers with 3 different perspectives.
Simon Vaux, Director of Digital Engineering articulates an NSW government perspective. Simon will present:
“Transforming Infrastructure with Digital Engineering” This presentation will describe the journey so far and the exciting opportunities for DE and transport infrastructure.

Chris Rolison, Senior Director of Bentley Systems will provide a perspective of the integration of Infrastructure
Systems Engineering and Building Information Modelling Globally. Chris will present: “Mind the Gap!” At times provocative and challenging of conventional thinking, this presentation is targeted at the systems engineering community to provoke thought and discussion.
Herman van der Merwe, Siemens Digital Industries. Herman will present: “Model based Systems Engineering PLM”
This session will present Siemens Model based Systems Engineering approach in a Product Lifecycle Management Environment; illustrated with one or more Siemens’s Global Best Practice.
