2018 HIGHLIGHTS

One year after returning home from prison, LaShawn completed his career training at Manchester Community College and accepted a job from a manufacturing company. This was made possible by the Best Chance Program for returning citizens. CPA provides this program’s Case Management in partnership with lead agency Capital Workforce Partners and several additional partners. Basic Needs Drives by many organizations and individuals provided reentry back packs, thanksgiving baskets, toiletries, and winter coats for

hundreds of Community Partners in Action (CPA) participants. We are thankful for our contributors: Asylum Hill Congregational Church, Connecticut Business Systems, Faith Congregational Church, First Congregational Church of Guilford, Immanuel Congregation-al Church, Marlborough Congregational Church, NAFI CT, St. Dunstan Church and The Hartford.

The Auerbach Schiro Foundation provided the Prison Arts Program with a gift to assist with much-needed art supplies.

Through the 2018 CT State Employee Giving Campaign, the Office of the State Treasurer raised funding that was designated to CPA.

Supporters of the Monster Mash Up fundraiser raised over $16,000 for our Reentry Fund that supports housing and basic needs for our current and past participants.
