1. Philosophy• To provide all children to take part in netball at the lowest level.• To provide exposure to players to competition at schools level.• To develop players basic skills in netball.
2. Policy• To include all schools at the lowest level of leagues.• To offer leagues to all age groups.
3. Duration• Leagues will be run between March and August.• The deadlines for the completion of different Levels will be determined
by the dates set out by the provincial structure.
4. Age groups• Leagues will be played from U/10 – U/19• Modified sport will be offered up to U/9 : Presconet for U/6 and Mini-
Netball for U/7 – U/9.

6. Administration of leagues
6.1 District committee’s responsibilities• See that they have a list of all the schools in the district.• Set up a meeting with all the schools in the district at the beginning of
the season.• Provide a registration form/league entry for schools to supply all their
information.• Information must be collated and recorded in a database.• Divide schools into clusters of minimum 5 and maximum of 9 schools to
ensure enough league matches.

�� Draw up the fixtures and send to schools not later than middle March.�� Co-ordinate and manage fixtures for the cluster.�� Send the fixtures to the Regional and Provincial committees at the
beginning of the season.�� Appoint a member of the committee to collect the results on a weekly
basis from the schools.�� Record all the results on a result table.�� Send the results to provincial structure and to the local press.�� Organise the play offs to determine district winners.�� The district winners will progress to the regional and then provincial
competition.�� The committee must assist the provincial structure with the organising
of this event if requested to do so.
6.2 School’s responsibilities6.2.1 Pre -event6.2.1.1 Home matches
�� Phone the visiting school and confirm teams at least one week inadvance
�� Set up the programme and set to the opponents�� Check the courts�� Organise First Aid�� Ensure that there are water available for the players�� Provide scorecards
6.2.1.2 Away matches�� Arrange transport as well as teachers on the bus.�� Confirmed the programme.�� Send through the number and/or names of the officials.
6.2.2 Event�� All officials and teams must have a clear picture of the day
following�� A detailed programme given with the names of umpires�� A technical table�� Scorecards�� Extra balls and stopwatches

6.2.3 Post-event�� Results must be duly signed by both organizers�� Results must be submitted to the league co-ordinator of the district
Within 48 hours after games have been completed.6.3 Players
�� Only bone fide learners registered at a school shall be permitted to playleagues.
�� No player may play in more than one school team in the same year.�� Players must wear uniform as in the byelaws of SASN.�� Each player shall have a position displayed. Playing positions on bibs
should be in English or English and Afrikaans (not only Afrikaans)
