1 Elizabethtown is 17-32 all-time against Scranton, who comes into today’s Landmark Conference matchup ranked in the top 10 in both the WBCA (7th) and d3hoops.com (6th) polls. Last year’s game at Thompson Gymnasium came down to a last-second winner by Makenzie Mason to give the Lady Royals a 46-44 edge over E-town.

2 Elizabethtown shot 16-for-20 from the free throw line in the second half of Wednesday’s 69-61 win over Coast Guard. The Blue Jays, who led for all but 11 seconds of the game, had a ten-point cushion in the first half, but the Bears rallied and got within a point in the second half, only to have E-town pull away with made foul shots. Lydia Lawson was 10-for-12 in the game and a crucial 6-for-6 in the fourth quarter. She finished with a game-high 21 points and added 8 rebounds, 8 assists, and 6 steals.

Marissa Emlet (12 points, 11 rebounds) and Veronica Christ (11 points, 10 rebounds) each had double-doubles for the Blue Jays in the win. Angie Hawkins recorded a season-best 9 points off the bench.

3 Scranton’s scoring margin of +22.1 ranks 15th across NCAA Division III. 11 of the Royals’ 12 wins this season have come by 10 points or more, including a pair of blowout wins at the WPI Holiday Tournament in Worcester, Mass. last Sunday and Monday.

Bridgette Mann nailed a career-best 8 three’s, matching the program record, and scored 28 points as Scranton won handily over Roger Williams in the opening game. Mason paced four in double figures in the championship game against UMass.-Boston with 18 points. As a team, the Lady Royals shot 53.7 percent en route to the tournament crown. Mann was named the WPI Holiday Tournament MVP.

4 Both teams are playing their second game in Landmark league play. Scranton dispatched Goucher with ease on Sat. Dec. 1, 2018 at home with a 85-48 win. Elizabethtown suffered a heartbreaking defeat at Moravian, losing by one on a foul shot with two seconds left in regulation.

5 The women’s basketball team would like to welcome the Sacred Heart Saints Girls CYO Basketball teams to today’s game. The Blue Jays thank both the varsity and JV teams for showing their support!
