Community Leaf Raking Day Saturday, November 4 | 8 a.m.–12 p.m.

This community-wide project enlists the help of more than 400 volunteers who rake leaves from the yards of seniors during a cool fall morning. Church groups, Scouts, business teams, college students, and family groups work together to clean up more than 50 yards.

Financial Planning Forum Saturday, April 29 | 8:30 a.m.–12 p.m.

This new, first-time event brings together a faculty of six to eight attorneys, CPAs, and financial planners to share their expertise on topics such as how to avoid probate, maximizing social security income, and planning for retirement. More than 100 guests are expected to attend this free program and each guest will have the option to attend three 45-minute learning sessions.

Impact Lunch Wednesday, December 20 | 12–1:30 p.m.

As a sponsor of this luncheon program, you will help recognize and celebrate the key leadership and programs that impact individuals 55 and older in Delaware County. Supper Club 10 selected months | 5–7 p.m.

On a regular basis, our chef and kitchen team prepare themed dinners that attract nearly 200 guests. These almost-monthly dinners are one of our most popular events and often sell out. The 2017 Supper Club dinners, which are served between 5 and 7 p.m., include:

Tree of Lights Ceremony Monday, December 11 | 6:30–7:30 p.m.

Be a part of our annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony and help us honor and celebrate lives of significance and meaning. The ceremony features uplifting music and song, meaningful presentations, and light refreshments.

Committee to Save Senior Services Fundraiser Friday, September 8

SourcePoint is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, and our goal is to help Delaware County thrive after 55. About 80% of our funding is provided through a county-wide senior services levy last approved by voters in 2013. Ohio is one of the few states that permits senior services to be funded via property tax levies, and Ohio law requires that every five years, we return to the ballot for re-approval by local voters. As a result, SourcePoint plans to be on the ballot in 2018, asking Delaware County voters to reaffirm our primary funding source.

The Committee to Save Senior Services, our political action committee, will hold a fall 2017 levy fundraiser to pay for the campaign and to remind the community that we will need their support at the polls in 2018. Historically, this fall fundraiser is a mix of fun, food, music, and good times, and it attracts our strongest community supporters who want to help ensure the continuation of our services for years to come.

Family Caregiver Program

Those caring for a loved one may face stress, isolation, and burnout.

The need for family caregivers is increasing as our loved ones age.

SourcePoint helps address these issues with our Family Caregiver Program, under the leadership of program coordinator Sara Stemen, MGS (Master of Gerontological Studies).

We have a six-phase program in place to support family caregivers, which includes:

1. Powerful Tools for Caregivers: a six-week program offered twice a year

2. Caregiver Support Groups: offered each month

3. Family Caregiver Coalition: meets quarterly

4. One-on-One Consultations: as requested

5. Online Caregiver Forum: on demand

6. Respite Program: in pilot status

In addition, we will host a Caregiver Recognition event in November, which recognizes and celebrates the unselfish work that caregivers provide on a daily basis.

We are looking for a corporate or agency sponsor to help us cross-promote and underwrite this valuable program.
