Problem
Limited Options/Travelers Have to Settle
6
Price: Is a concern for travelers searching for souvenir products. They pay overpriced charges for generic mass produced items at tourist retail shops, hotels etc.
Navigation: Street markets are a great option but travelers often get ripped off from street hagglers based on their accent.
No centralization: no platform exists to find street markets that sell unique local products. Must turn to outdated travel articles or locals.
www.Vendedy.com
Solution
Save Money: skip the tourist shops and pay for unique items at street markets + See what others have paid for a particular product
Save Time: Have a centralized hub for street food & street products-address, recommendations, schedules etc.
Share Culture: Have real authentic experiences abroad connecting with the vibrancy of street market people
Make Money: Bring back home street market products and charge a fee to consumers

Be Prepared – Before You Go!!!1. Google before you go.Occasionally, a flea market will post the list of
vendors. 2. Always carry a notebook with ideas, dimensions and inspirational
photos3. Use Social Media. Another great resource to use to get information
about food vendors, performers and the type of items being sold is to search social media.
4. Do get a map of the flea market if there’s one available. Do figure out the flea market’s layout, assuming it’s not random. At some fleas, the permanent indoor booths have the closeouts and cheap imports. At others, the sellers with the fine antiques are the ones sheltered inside. Some flea markets even assign place vendors according to their merchandise type. Find out, and then start with the good stuff.
5. Cash is king. 6. No idea where to start? Spencer suggested first going to high-end
antique shops first so when you’re hunting for bargains at the markets you’ll know when you’ve found a deal.
7. Learn to haggle. 8. Know what’s trendy, now. Look through magazines and catalogues
for patterns. Dowear comfortable walking shoes (some you’ve already broken in) or your feet will be aching by the end of the day.
9. Do take coffee or water with you, if it’s allowed. Even if the flea market has a concession stand, the lines are likely long and the prices high. Save your concession cash for the tasty food trucks.
10.Do take a collapsible cart with wheels. You’ll have free hands for browsing as you buy things and your arms won’t ache from carrying stuff around. Take bubble wrap or newspaper for wrapping fragile items too.

Once You’re There: Save Money1. Avoid flea markets in “precious” neighborhoods,
unless you’re there to people watch. 2. Arrive late. I know that everyone says “go early,” but
I’ve never scored a good deal at 8 am. I don’t know if it’s because I’m still bleary-eyed from waking up, or if I just can’t take the competition. But in the early hours, sellers are less likely to adjust their prices. If you come in the last hour or two, you’ll find markdowns.
3. For the best price, buy multiple items. Get more for your money. “Vendors also love to bundle things, so if you’re buying more items, they’re more likely to give you a discount
4. Go to the last row first and make your way back. Front row sellers know they have prime space and their prices will reflect it. But back row sellers consider themselves lucky to get good foot traffic. Take advantage of this.
5. Schedule your day around others. “You want to think about how to avoid those crowds, so you want to plan your day a little bit off from everyone else’s schedule,” Ridge says. “So you might get there around 11 and sample some of the fair foods, and then when everyone else is standing in line for the food from 12 to 2, you’re looking at all the booths without a crowd.”
6. Kill ‘em with kindness. This one’s from Spencer’s mother — don’t ever insult a seller’s goods or prices.

Optimize Your Success –Before You Leave1. Go through the entire market twice — you’ll catch things you
missed the first time.2. Form relationships with sellers who specialize in your favorite
things. 3. Don’t try to negotiate…unless you follow this rule. For many
merchants, the market circuit is their sole way of earning cash. To negotiate is to insult, especially if you’re buying a handmade item. ONE exception: If you’re buying 3 items or more.
4. Don’t haggle on item after item if you’re not serious about buying anything. When you do find a piece you can’t live without, the seller assumes you’re not serious and he’s tired of wasting his time.
5. Don’t go too early, if you’re on a budget. Early birds often get the best merchandise, but the highest prices. This is because merchants know that someone will be around later in the day to buy, so there’s no pressure to make the sale..
6. Don’t show up too late. It used to be that you could catch a merchant at the advertised end of the day, and they would give you dirt-cheap prices for goods (so they wouldn’t have to pack it up). Many merchants leave 2 hours before closing.
7. Don’twalk away from an item you just have to have. 8. Watch out for fake stuff. 9. Do keep your cash in a front pocket, or in a cross-body bag
positioned in front. 10. Be adventurous with food. 11. Don’t pass on sturdy, low-cost pieces just because they need a
little work. Cosmetic repairs (painting, refinishing, replacing hardware, and simple upholstering) are easy fixes.
12. Do think of ways to repurpose flea market finds if you can’t use them as is. You might be able to turn an antique microscope into a table lamp or use an old door as a headboard.

Travel Hacks Before You Leave1. Complete travel sweep stakes for companies in the travel industry by googling campaign,
contests 2016 under Expedia, HostelWorld etc….Keep in mind these travel industry leaders need to drive traffic to their site every year in different ways
2. Check for niche programs for students, bloggers, photographers etc. Student Universe has a free summer trip offer for students who can capture their experience in social media etc during the summers. Netflix and NatGeo had one for travel photographers.
3. Don’t pay for your next hostel booking. Go to the hostel and ask if you can work for free in exchange for free accommodation and food.
4. Instead of a hotel, look into reserving a home if traveling with a family, or a single room if alone. Websites like AirBnB
5. Roll your clothes when packing. 6. Scan your passport, identification card, and itinerary and email them to yourself. 7. It’s important to remember to call your credit or debit card company before you leave 8. Mark your baggage as fragile. Your luggage is kept at the top because of this, which will make
it one of the first bags to be released.9. Bring your own water bottle. 10.Never underestimate the value of a fanny pack. 11.Splurge on Internet service if your flight is more than six-and-a-half hours long. 12.Ensure that you have a pen before leaving home so you can complete customs forms. 13.20 minutes before you land, sprint for the bathroom. Usually when the seatbelt light comes
on, I’ve found that you still have 15 minutes of leeway until you truly haveto be seated. Use this opportunity to relieve yourself to prevent fighting for restrooms when you land.

23Travel Hacks When You Arrive- Part 1 1. Dart directly for baggage claim. It is amazing how many people seem to lollygag after landing. Save
that for someplace else to save yourself time and to prevent any arguments with fellow travelers.2. Use ATMs to get local currency. Using money converters in the airport usually come with their own
fees and the exchange rates are a rip-off. ATMs always dispense local currency, of course, so use your debit or credit card and get your money there.
3. Ensure that you have Yelp downloadedfor domestic travel in the US. This is a great city guide for both travelers and locals alike, and is best way to find the most amazing places to eat and sightsee.
4. Shop for groceries when you arrive. You don’t have to shop for a feast, but getting basics like water and a few snacks in local stores instead of at the hotel can save you a ton.
5. When in your room, remove only the necessities from your luggage. Trying to make yourself at home by taking out every pair of shoes and all of your toiletries will only make repacking a living hell, and it increases your chances of forgetting something when it’s time to go home.
6. Create a separate email account and subscribe to travel hacker tips from the top 50 travel bloggers on this list: http://www.theexpeditioner.com/the-top-50-travel-blogs/
7. When booking flights and hotels online enable private browsing. Travel sites often track your visits and will raise the price simply because you’ve visited before.
8. When reserving seats for two people, choose the aisle and window seats. If no one takes the middle seat, then you get the full row, and if someone does, then just ask to switch seats so you can sit next to your partner.
9. Use Google Maps offline by typing “OK Maps” and the visible area will save for future access.10.Roll your clothes when packing. Instead of creating a folded pile in your suitcase, rolling allows you
to fit more things in11.Fold your soap in a wash cloth.12. Scan your passport, identification card, and itinerary and email them to yourself. This provides an
extra copy of each in the event of loss or theft.13. Wrap headphones around a binder clip to prevent them from tangling.14. Bring a power strip

Travel Hacks When You Arrive Part 2 1. Mark your baggage as fragile. This is a tip I learned a while ago from a friend who found it to
be a great way to ensure that your baggage is handled correctly. Your luggage is kept at the top because of this, which will make it one of the first bags to be released.
2. Use belts to line collars to keep them crispy.3. If you forget your wall plug, you can charge devices through the USB slot on a TV.4. Shop for groceries when you arrive. You don’t have to shop for a feast, but getting basics
like water and a few snacks in local stores instead of at the hotel can save you a ton.5. Refill travel-size containers instead of buying new each time.6. Put underwear and socks in shoes to save space.7. Get WiFi passwords by checking comments on FourSquare8. Glass cases are perfect for chargers and cables.9. Use guidebooks sparingly. Guidebooks only presents you with tourist spots;10. Use the local language as much as possible. It reflects well not only on you, but also on
Americans/your nationality in general.11. Have a souvenir list prepared, and stick to it.12. Eat locally only.Trying the local cuisine will save you more money and allow you to
experience new and flavorful meals.13. “When in Rome, do as the Romans” is a general saying that I like to translate it as, “don’t be
a stubborn traveler, and get out of your comfort zone”. If a country advises modest dress, for example, follow through. It can even ensure your safety as a foreigner.

Travel Hacks for Returning Home Part 1 1. If you are a frequent traveler, live out of your toiletry bag and keep it packed. This will allow the
packing process to be a bit easier and will prevent you from having to make expensive toiletry purchases if you forget something.
2. Use IFTTT when sharing traveling photos to make it seamless and easy. “Recipes” like sharing automatically to Dropbox or Evernote will allow you automatically to have a copy of your precious photos.
3. Unpack immediately when you enter the door. You may be tired out of your mind, but you’ll be glad you did it in the morning. Plus, it saves your luggage from smelling like soiled laundry.
4. The travel hacks above have helped me on my busy travel year this year, and I hope they will provide some assistance to you. Let us know in the comments below which travel hack was your favorite. Also, let us know if there are any travel hacks, not mentioned above that have proved successful for you.
5. Throw the hotel bar soap into your dirty laundry bag so it doesn’t stink up your suitcase for the rest of your trip. Don’t have any bar soap lying around? Use a dryer sheet.
6. Wear a night moisturizer on long flights because it’s extra hydrating and you’ll have plenty of time to let it sink in and do its job (you know, like fighting wrinkles and brightening skin).
7. Pack items like your laptop in smaller bags so you have options when you’re out and about. You don’t want to have to lug your carry-on bag with you everywhere, do you?
8. Store your power cords in an old sunglass case. It’ll keep you from losing your damn mind. We promise.
9. Ditch the blush, brightener, and lipstick in favor of an all-in-one makeup product (likeW3LL People’s Universalist stick). Major space saver, and you now have an excuse to pick up a beauty souvenir while you’re away.
10.Make your own awesome travel beverage. Bring a thermos with lemon, honey, and your own tea bag. Then have the flight attendant fill it with hot water—it makes the flight a tiny bit more relaxing.
11.Use your mascara as an eyeliner—just press the wand as close to your waterline as possible. It won’t approximate a cat eye but it will give you an effortless, smudged look.

Travel Hacks for Returning Home Part 2 1. Wear your heaviest shoes on the plane as well as your heaviest coat.2. Hot tools take up precious suitcase space. Spritz damp hair with sea salt spray, use a towel
to tie it up “genie-style,” and sleep on it. Unwrap in the morning to reveal beachy waves.3. If you bring some sort of hot styling tool, tuck it into a potholder to protect the clothes in
your suitcase.4. Infinity scarves give you infinite options. Use one as a blanket when you’re cold, or fold it
over your face to block out the light for a nap.5. Leggings are a safe and comfy bet for traveling. Wear them under dresses and skirts, or for
a workout (if that’s your thing).6. Use a pill container to store and sort your jewelry7. Holiday overindulgence equals dull skin. Mask the effects of that eggnog with a brightening
sheet mask, like this one.8. Just traveling for the weekend? Put your foundation or powder into contact cases to bring
small quantities.9. Pack clothing items around a color scheme (denim/black/white/gray) so that it’s easy to mix
and match. Dress up your outfits with scarves or jewelry.10. Stash your bobby pins in a Tic Tac container to keep from losing them.11. Bring several pairs of underwear in your carry-on—just in case your luggage winds up lost.12. Collect travel- and sample-size items so you’ll have them when you need them.13. Pre-pack what you can.14. Place a cotton pad in your blush or powder compact to ensure that it won’t break while
you’re in transit.15. Wear something with preferably deep pockets on the plane—it’ll prevent you from having to
dig through your bag for your phone, wallet, and boarding pass every five minutes.www.Vendedy.com
