The Portsmouth Baseball Diamond Club was formed in 2003 by a group of parents who saw the need for assisting the high school baseball program in it’s desire to continue to improve and succeed. With shrinking school budgets, fund raising has become an important part of maintaining and growing the program and facilities. Through diligent efforts and hard work, the Portsmouth High School baseball program has evolved into one of the top programs in the state, as well as having first class facilities, that in 2006 were recognized by the National High School Baseball Coaches Association.
The Diamond Club could not exist, nor provide the many things that it has in the past (and plans to in the future), without the support of our local businesses and individuals that continue to support the children of Portsmouth, and specifically the high school baseball program.
We will strive to continue to enhance the experience by providing a premier baseball program and facility for our kids. We ask that you please continue to support our efforts.
THANK YOU !

PHS Baseball Parents, Fans and Supporters,
As we start the 2016 season, we are starting with a new coaching staff and five or six senior starters. We are looking for many underclassmen to make up the Varsity Team. Our team make-up will be young and in a rebuilding process.
We are looking forward to working towards continued success in Division I Baseball.
Our program and our facilities continue to be recognized as one of the top in the Rhode Island Interscholastic League and we are fortunate to have the support of so many that provide the resources to maintain and grow the program. Our entire Coaching Staff is committed to providing a fair, competitive and educational baseball experience for our student-athletes.
As our rosters turn over year after year, we are always looking go our parent group to become more involved in the Portsmouth Baseball Diamond Club to continue its outstanding support of the players and program. Without the PBDC, we would struggle to maintain and provide what we do now.
On behalf of all of our student-athletes and Coaches, thank you for your support and confidence, and we look forward to seeing you at the field this season.

Program Mission
The mission of the Portsmouth Patriots Baseball Program is to provide a positive baseball experience to each participating student-athlete. This is achieved through a commitment to hard work, discipline and teamwork. Every coach, student-athlete and parent is expected to represent the program with the class, integrity, sportsmanship and respect that defines Portsmouth Patriots Baseball. We will at all times respect and operate within the guidelines of Portsmouth High School and the Rhode Island Interscholastic League.
Program Philosophy
• We represent our families, our community, our school and our program both on the field and off. We have a responsibility to represent them in a way which will make them proud.
• The “student” in student-athlete is most important. Conforming to the academic expectations of your family and school should be your top priority. Your academic performance is directly related to your participation in this program.
• Our community is an extension of the school and field. Your behavior in the community will also have a direct impact on your ability to participate in the program.
• We are always a team first. The success of the team relies on each of us to do our part, regardless of what that part may be. We will accept our role and be proud to be a Patriot.
• We will always respect the game, our teammates, officials and opponents. Any level of poor sportsmanship will not be tolerated.
• We approach every day with the goal of getting better. There are always areas to improve what we do both individually and as a team. This is done through a commitment to hard work.
• The game takes place one pitch at a time. The situation changes in some aspect every pitch. Our focus on each pitch will allow us to be prepared for every situation and to execute it consistently and efficiently.
• We compete on every pitch for the duration of the game. We do not ever give less than 110%. Opportunities are only available when we create them by competing.
• We understand that we are fortunate to have the facilities that we do. We understand that we must do our part to maintain the facilities in the best possible condition.
• We have the support of the Portsmouth Baseball Diamond Club, as a primary fund raising vehicle for the program. We will provide the PBDC with our support in all efforts of fundraising and facility improvements.
• We will utilize experiences and lessons learned through participation in this program to prepare us for following years and challenges.
• You should realize that you are fortunate to have coaches that are committed to your development and success. You will have the opportunity to learn a lot and it is expected that respect for your coaches will be shown at all times.
