Dear Neighbor,

The Town of Oyster Bay 2016 Music Under the Stars Concert Series will once again offer exciting free summer entertainment at our beautiful local parks. This year’s lineup includes something for everyone, with performances scheduled to delight residents of all ages.

This year the summer concert series will kick off with a local favorite, Mike DelGuidice & Big Shot. The lineup will continue to provide residents with a great variety of musical performances including Vertical Horizon, Vanilla Fudge, The Doo Wop Project, Tommy James and the Shondells, Ambrosia, and Dean Karahalis & the Concert Pops featuring the New York Tenors with Andy Cooney, Daniel Rodriguez & Christopher Macchio and more. We will also host the annual “Salute to America,” honoring veterans of all wars, with musical entertainment provided by SixGun. Once again the “Salute” will be capped off with Fireworks by Grucci. Most concerts are scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. Bring along your chairs and blankets.

In addition to the great schedule of concerts, we are also offering our popular Movies by Moonlight Series. This series features a variety of favorite films with popcorn and pre-show activities while we wait for the sun to set! Pack your picnic dinner and join us at 6:30 p.m. for a fun-filled family evening.

Be sure to check inside this brochure for more details or check our website at www.oysterbaytown.com for these and additional upcoming events. You can also find us on both Twitter and Facebook.

On behalf of the entire Oyster Bay Town Board, I wish you a happy, healthy, and fun-filled summer “under the stars.” Sincerely,

John VendittoTown Supervisor

VerticaL horiZon July 9 / John J. Burns town parkIn 1999, Vertical Horizon experienced meteoric success with Everything You Want selling over two million copies. The title song was the most played single of 2000 and the band went on to garner further radio attention with “You’re a God” and “Best I Ever Had (Grey Sky Morning).”

Vertical Horizon is an ever-expanding, vibrant and growing musical entity and their music is a sonic tapestry of various genres, styles and sounds. The band’s “wheel of change” continues to turn. Hold on to the wheel, and you’ll be dragged - instead, let it roll and enjoy the ride.

the Band that FeLL to earth a daVid BoWie triButeJuly 28 / ellsworth W. allen town parkThe Band That Fell to Earth – A David Bowie Tribute reprises the fury and live intensity of a Ziggy Stardust era David Bowie concert but they also include costume changes covering looks, imagery and songs from throughout Bowie’s storied career. Covering very early classics (Space Oddity) through selections from Bowie’s parting gift, Blackstar, released earlier this year, The Thin White Duke’s signature charisma, charm and stunning sonic accuracy are perfectly encapsulated by front man Julian Shah-Tayler, a UK native with many record releases of his own. Voted one of the Top 10 Tribute Bands of 2015 by LA Weekly, The Band That Fell to Earth delivers a crowd-pleasing tribute to Bowie, par excellence!

It’s an evening of pure energy and magic, where you’ll be lifted from your seat with excitement by the power and charisma of these gifted young performers.
