Philosophy of the

THE BOATING INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION OF VICTORIA (BIAV) is the peak body for the marine sector. It represents an industry worth

to the Victorian economy and provides more than 17,700 full-time equivalent jobs.The BIAV is a membership services organisation,

which exists to support its members and to promote recreational boating.The BIAV own and operate the Melbourne Boat

Show (MBS) which is the largest promotion of boating in Victoria. With competition for recreational time at an all time

high; the MBS aims to give the public a positive boating experience and allows them to imagine boating as part of their lifestyle.

THE EXHIBITION SCHEDULINGTraditionally the MBS has been held during winter to assist the industry with promotion of boating during the quieter months and to assist in filling orders for summer delivery.

THE MELBOURNE BOAT SHOW will be celebrating its

OPEN SPACE PRICES - 10 MONTH PAYMENT PLANOPEN SPACE (min 24m2)Open space is provided to exhibitors in a range of dimensions and includes single colour carpet tiles. It does not include power – this needs to be arranged via our electrical contractor.

PAYMENT SCHEDULEIn response to exhibitor feedback, we have introduced in 2016, an economical 10-month payment plan that allows you to spread your payments over time. Due to rising costs, we have had to implement a small increase in exhibitor rates for 2016.

EXHIBITOR DISCOUNTExhibitors who pay ALL instalments on or before the due dates as listed are eligible for 15% discount off the total cost of the stand.

The 15% discount will be deducted on the final instalment (invoice) which must be received by 15th May 2016. NB: 2% credit surcharge will apply to all payments made by credit card.

DUE DATES10 MONTH PLAN 10% of the total cost is due on the 15th day of each month leading up to the show, with the final payment due on 15th May, 2016.PAYMENT IN THREE INSTALMENTS 10% payment due by 15th December 2015, followed by 50% on 15th March 2016 and 40% by 15th May 2016.

If final payment is not received by 15th May 2016, the 15% discount will not apply to either plan.

SHELL SCHEME STANDSShell scheme stands are available in the following sizes: 3m x 3m; 3m x 6m; and 3m x 9m. The cost of a shell scheme stand includes carpet tiles, 2.4m high walls, fascia board company sign, one 240V power point and 2x 150w lights (per 3m x 3m unit).

APPLYING FOR SPACEExhibitors must complete in full the Application to Exhibit form (attached) and return to the BIAV as soon as possible.

Verbal applications will not be accepted. Space is allocated at the discretion of the BIAV and the submission of an application form is not a guarantee of space.

Successful applications will be advised of their allocated space and will be provided with an Exhibitor Manual which will outline details of the show, move in and move out processes and general exhibitor information.

FLOOR PLANThe revised floor plan introduced in 2015 was well-received and promoted good customer flow through the venue. As such, the 2016 floor plan will be based off this model. We ask all exhibitors to submit their applications as soon as possible, with the final floor plan to be released in December. This will enable us to ensure all exhibitors are allocated the best possible position and maximise usage of the venue.

SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIESThere are a number of opportunities available at the Melbourne Boat Show to showcase your brand to the public and members of the marine industry.

CAFES AND BARS NAMING RIGHTSThe introduction of the northern and southern bar areas at the 2015 show saw thousands of visitors increasing their dwell-time by relaxing in one of the bars as they envisaged why life would be better with a boat. In 2016, both the northern and southern bars are available for you to showcase your brand, via Bar Naming Rights.

EXHIBITOR FUNCTION NAMING RIGHTSThe Sunday night exhibitor and member function provides a relaxed environment for the industry to gather and network with colleagues. As Naming Rights sponsor for this function you can enjoy premium exposure to industry guests.
