OBJECTIVE:

CurbShare streamlines the arrival sequence for passengers at an airport curb based on transit needs of individuals.

PROPOSAL:

Private cars, taxis, car services, shuttles, and buses are signaled to stop at designated CurbShare spaces providing a seamless experience when leaving the terminal. By eliminating multiple traffic lanes, CurbShare provides a location for convenient access to transportation. Vehicles move quickly along the curb, retrieve passengers and depart.

Is underutilized, not based on dynamic demand and static. CurbShare is a real time virtual curb based on demand.

These congested spaces accommodate several layers of ground transportation, each competing for a place on the curb. CurbShare is a safer, more optimized method.

CurbShare redefines access to the city when leaving the airport by providing an opportunity to request and obtain a desired means of ground transportation. Users of CurbShare benefit from:

- ASSIGNED PICK UP LOCATION - NO LINES - CONVENIENT PAYMENT CurbShare is a more optimized option for travelers that utilizes a flexible automated system of pick up points identified at the curb by PINS. These markers adapt to demand based on traveler needs during peak times throughout the day.

By acknowledging the fact that most people commute to and from work alone across the country, we can anticipate the vehicular needs of modern travelers at

the airport. Encouraging shared rides and other forms of transportation, fewer vehicles will need to pass through the system to retrieve the same number of passengers.

CURBSHARE IS A SMARTER SOLUTION.

HOW? - A mid-sized airport similar to Kansas City International Airport would expect 850 cars per hour at the curb.

- At the average 1000’ airport curb, 40 CurbShare spaces are available for use.

- These 40 spaces have the capacity to accommodate 1200 cars per hour with an average dwell time of 2 minutes. Accommodation would be slightly less when buses are in use. If half of travelers sign up and use the expedited pick-up,

CurbShare, then the traditional curb is available for the remaining traffic flow.

HOW TO: CURBSHARE

FIRSTDrivers and travelers are able to connect with CurbShare online, on mobile devices, and at the airport. Both parties must sign up and complete method payment for CurbShare before arriving to the airport and using the exclusive service.

+ Intelligent CurbShare software will distribute passengers and vehicles along the curb to optimize

vehicular traffic in the CurbShare lane.

+ Private vehicles will have access to PINS for a specific amount of time with CurbShare. Additional time

can be purchased and reservations will extend.

+ PINS are programmed based on current demand and GPS to ensure spaces are available for buses and

shuttles.

Locate the personalized PIN on the CurbShare curb, as directed by GPS and PINS identified by number and color.
