Doyle Dinning and the cross country team will host Gator Rally during Restaurant Night. The team takes over

the menu and will celebrate their season before heading to the CSAC Championships on October 28th. On

Friday, October 27th for the Gator Rally finale, all fall sports will be honored during lunch and celebrate their

Williams Chases NDMU Record Notre Dame cross country raced at the Hood Invitational this weekend in their last meet before the Colonial States Athletic

Conference Championship at the end of the month. On the overcast day, the Gators recorded one of their best team performances with

the team's top three runners posting personal bests.

Junior Kelsie Williams finished first for the Gators in a time of 29:27.1. Not only did Williams post a personal best in the race, she

was just one second shy of the Notre Dame 6k record (29:26). Newcomer Christine Roa placed second for the Gators in 29:37.0, also

posting a personal best this season. Freshman Jeannette Rosales-Blanco had an outstanding performance at Hood, finishing third for the

Gators in 32:31.3. She shaved nearly two minutes off her best time this season. Tavia Williams finished in fifth for Notre Dame, also

posting a personal best by three minutes.

Notre Dame looked strong in their final meet before the CSAC and NCAA Championships. They will see some time off before

returning to the ChesLen Preserve for the CSAC Championships on October 28.

Soccer and Field Hockey Drop Conference Week Notre Dame soccer went 0-2 in conference play this week. On Tuesday, the Gators hosted Gwynedd Mercy where they gave up

five first-half goals. Notre Dame then held the Griffins scoreless for the entire second half. The Gators had a few scoring chances, but could

not find the back of the net. Goalkeeper Loren Pardoe posted 20 saves, her third consecutive game with 20 or more saves. On Saturday,

Notre Dame hosted Marywood on Senior Day. The Gators gave up a goal per half, losing 2-0. The team did have a few scoring chances,

posting six shots. Notre Dame will face Cairn and Cedar Crest on the road this week.

The field hockey team went 0-2 in CSAC action this week. On Wednesday, the Gators hosted Neumann on Senior Day. Notre Dame

got on the board taking a 1-0 lead in the first five minutes of play off a goal from Megan Morales. Close to five minutes later, the Knights

tied up the game. Neumann would score two more goals in the second half, handing the loss to Notre Dame, 3-1. Goalkeeper Calenna

Cauley tallied 11 saves. On Saturday, the team traveled to Keystone where they fell to the Giants, 4 -0. Cauley posted eight saves in the

game and was assisted by the Notre Dame defense as they tallied three defensive saves. The field hockey team will next face Cedar Crest

on Saturday.

Volleyball Goes 1-1 The volleyball team went 1-1 this week, picking up a win on the road at Christendom and then falling to Neumann on Saturday. On

Wednesday, the Gators swept the Crusaders, with the team totaling 31 kills, 47 digs, and nine blocks. On Saturday, Notre Dame traveled to

Neumann where they lost in four sets, 3-1. Freshman Sarah Sweet led the team with 13 kills followed by senior setter Jamie Reyes with a

career-high eight kills. Freshman Michaila Sheedy paced the team with three aces while also posting five kills. Four players had double-digit

NDMU Volleyball Hosts Clinic for Special Olympics Maryland

Last Monday, the Notre Dame volleyball team held a clinic for the Special Olympics of Maryland volleyball

team from Howard County. The Gators held a two-hour clinic for 15 Special Olympic athletes, coaching them in

different volleyball fundamentals.

The Notre Dame student-athletes got the clinic started, running the Howard County players through

NDMU's normal game day stretching involving dynamic and static exercises. The athletes then split into three

groups, moving into station work. Each station was designed to work on basic fundamentals of volleyball including:

serving, passing, and setting.

After the Gators worked with the athletes on serving, passing, and setting, they moved onto drills that

emphasized the importance of three contacts (pass, set, hit). To close out the clinic, the athletes had the

opportunity to split up and run a scrimmage. On two different courts, four teams made up of Special Olympic

Athletes and Notre Dame student-athletes and coaches played one another, combining all their applied skills. Many

athletes demonstrated the desire to learn new skills and showed confidence in their play throughout the clinic.

A great learning experience for both the Special Olympics athletes and the Notre Dame volleyball team

ended in a big group photo and cheer. Notre Dame of

Maryland looks forward to working with the Special

Olympics again in the future. Last season, the basketball

team ran a clinic for the Howard County team before the

start of a home game.
