WELCOMETwenty Five Years!!! For a quarter of a century, this massive undertaking, we call the Bank of the Cascades Bend Summer Festival, has been breathing life into the streets of Downtown Bend!

And how important can 25 years of community gathering be? Important enough to be recognized, nationally in publications and on the circuit, as one of the finest street festivals in the country!

As we reflect back over these many years, and as we step into a Bend, Oregon, now, that continues to de-fine itself through it’s burgeoning array of summer events, races and festivals, we remember one critical wrinkle in time. It was November of 2008, a contract year with our title sponsor, The Bank of the Cascades. It was clear that the fall of the economy was no “passing phase.” And unlike many other festivals that sought to find more solid ground (like the Eugene Celebration and the Salem Arts Fairs that would fence in their Downtown corridors and charge a “cover” for en-trance to their signature community gatherings), a core quartet of Bank of the Cascades executives, (Patricia Moss, Debbie Amorongen, Julie Miller, and Charlene Clevenger) all agreed that then, more than ever, the community needed to continue it’s fine tradition of gathering, of basking in fine art and color and motion and music for free~ that this festival had become a core tapestry of this area’s narrative, and that to do the obvious thing, by cutting or reducing the sponsorship, (ending the event) would send a signal to the population at large that there was no reason to be confident that time would persevere. In effect, they were investing in a notion that would be critical to this area’s climbing up and out of harder times—the notion that everything would be a right (don’t worry, bout a thing’). These festivals are more than entertainment, they are about community, connection, social capital and health, and about using the arts as a device to bring pause to the rancor of our lives.

And so it is, by the good grace of these fine people, and the continued generosity of many others, that the Bank of the Cascades Bend Summer Festival stands poised to celebrate it’s 25th anniversary with a bonanza of attendee experiences!

This is the music festival, that is a fine arts festival, that is a wine and gourmet food festival, that is a children’s festival, that is a conscious living festival, that is an imported goods festival, that is a food and spirits festival, that is a performing arts festival. Boasting nearly 300 different vendors, sponsors, and participating groups and agencies- this festival is one of the largest of it’s kind in the Northwest.

The event started with the hard work and vision of a well-intended group of Bendites, who wanted to see our fine Downtown infused with the greatness of art, music, beer, wine, dance, film, children’s fun, and more. Michelle Liberty, and an esteemed committee of Bend area leaders, was originally tapped to guide the first year of the festival. Later, Bend resident, Carolyn Tillia would breathe art and soul into the event, capturing this community’s spirit and sense of imagination. Under her stewardship, the event moved from the Mirror Pond Parking Lot onto Wall Street.

In 1996, C3 Events assumed a leadership role. That first summer we were ill-prepared. Garbage? Porta Potties? Street cleaning? Artists arriving at 4am? In short, we got whooped. At 3am, eyes half mast and barely able to keep upright, our amazing staff of young people (Jake, Shannon, Ashley, Kalei, Katherine, Jessica, Marissa, Sarah, and more...) found themselves, broom in hand, literally sweeping the streets of garbage and muck. Ahhhh. Art’s management. That was our welcome into the foray of art festival production. And, as the years have evolved, and as the event has expanded, it is still true today that this event pushes our fine staff and it’s many volunteers and subcontractors, in the most brutal and beautiful of ways. It’s art after all—and like the lotus flower, so much of art’s history is mired in greatness and beauty that emerges out of pain and mud.

This festival, which started with twenty some artisans, has grown, now, into a favorite of local’s and tourists alike, spanning more than eight downtown blocks. Proudly, then, on this eve of July 10th, brooms in hand, beauty in mind, we celebrate this town’s rich Downtown core, and the legacy that the Bank of the Cascades Bend Summer Festival has provided for Central Oregonians! It’s a legacy painted upon the canvas of a thousand brilliant fine artists... cars and busses have been transformed, “big art” installations have been constructed, and trunks of trees have been carved into magnificent creatures. It’s a legacy steeped in the sounds of Robert Cray, Curtis Salgado, Tom Grant, Jimmy Messina, Gene Harris, Mel Brown, Mark Alan, Tyrone Wells, The Daddies, Craig Chaquico, Todd Haaby, The Samples, Ozomatli, Ottmar

Liebert, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Night Ranger, Ricki Lee Jones, Sonos, and, in celebration of 25 years, from Seattle comes Sir Mix Alot!

And so, on behalf of the hundreds of volunteers, staff,

sponsors, and patrons who have all contributed to the 2015 Bank of the Cascades Bend Summer Festival,

and in celebration of 25 years, let us invite you to join us and Live It! Join us on the streets of

Downtown Bend on Friday, July 10th, from 5pm to 11pm, Saturday July 11th from 11am to 11pm, and Sunday July 12th from 11am to 5pm.

All ages will enjoy a feast for all senses. Your eyes will delight in the many works of more than 125 talented artisans, crafters, and importers. Local luminary, Deschutes Brewery, will ensure

that there will be terrific micro-brews available, and a good 35 food vendors and restaurants

to will supply the entire gamut of gastronomic delights! The art of sound comes alive on the Peak

104.1 Mainstage with Larry and His Flask, Sir Mix A lot, and many more. Portland’s grammy award nominated,

and 80’s icons, Nu Shooz will perform with a full 10-piece-band along with, a 10-piece Earth Wind and Fire

Tribute Band, and High Street up on the Cascade Sotheby’s International Realty Jazz, Wine, and Gourmet Food Stage! Saxon’s

Fine Jewelers “Soul Brunch” Sunday, will feature the soulful sounds of Kalimba (the EWF Tribute Band) along with two other artist steeped heavy in the sounds of good soul music. And the KPOV, Rely Local, Local’s Only Stage, will feature some of Bend’s top and emerging artists, including Rum and the Sea, All in All, Weather Machine, and Strive Roots.

Other features of the event include a terrific family area, produced with some enormous heavy lifting by The City of Bend’s Cheryl Howard. The Cascade Sotheby’s Jazz Wine and Gourmet Foods street will feature more than 24 gourmet food and wine vendors. And there’s a block full of conscious living vendors, led by Jim Kone, offering tips and services to live a healthier life!

And, of course, there is no admission to the festival-- largely due to continued generosity of Bank of the Cascades!

Here’s to Marna, Ashley, Shannon, Shannon, Susan, Darlene and Roni, Tracy, Josh, Ryan, Michelle, Leann, Melissa, Bruce, Erica, Tiffany, Al, Ernie, Larry, Dale (and Dr. Richard Clark) and countless others who have come before- as C3 Events is honored to continue its production of the Bank of the Cascades Bend Summer Festival, presented by The Source Weekly. So help us spread the love, with deepest bows of gratitude to our amazing festival director Michelle Roats and her exemplary staff led by Melissa King, Leann Schoales, and Lee Perry, by joining us to live it, taste it, chew it, view it, and hear it, (got it?) at the Bank of the Cascades Bend Summer Festival presented by The Source Weekly! Here’s to 25 more years!

Sincerely,

Cameron Clark Owner, C3 Events

2015 BEND SUMMER FESTIVAL EVENT HOURS Friday, July 10 5-11pm Saturday, July 11 11am-11pm Sunay, July 12 11am-5pm

In honor of the 25th anniversary of the Bank of the Cascades Bend Summer Festival presented by The Source Weekly and Hayden Homes, the official fine art for the festival features the work of Bend native, Shelli Wal-ters. “Blue Guitar with Bird” is featured on the official event fine art poster.

Shelli has turned her passion for art and de-sign into a 20+ year career as an art director and graphic designer and more recently into a

contemporary fine art painter. She has been a Bend resident since childhood and is a member at Tumalo Art Company.

Shelli’s painting process is a synthesis of having a plan and allowing the work to evolve. She paints from her thoughts and experiences, exploring images ranging from landscapes and flowers, to animals and bicycles. Her intention is to evoke a sense of freedom, joy and empowerment through images everyone can relate to. “My paintings are an imperfect commingle of paint, typography, graphics, pattern, sketch and texture. Discovering the surprises and mixing these elements reveal in every painting as I push and pull paint around the surface keeps me engaged and inspired.”

Boxcar String Band

Boxcar String Band is an three man rock and roll blues machine that plays an ecletic mix of old rock and roll, blues, hillbilly rock and rockabilly music.  While the band is based out of Bend, Oregon, it’s members bring influence from the greater pacific northwest and far beyond.

Redwood Son

Since being named “Best New Artist” at the 2011 Portland Music Awards, Redwood Son has done a great deal of growing up. The road will do that to a person, and with 60k miles under his belt over the past 3 years, you can see why there is a new found focus for 2015.

Wil Kinky Trio

Wil’s Sound is like John Mayer meets Ray Lamontagne at a radio concert. Its Blues, Soulful with an Alternative edge. Born and raised outside Portland on a blueberry farm near Cornelius, OR, hard work has always been a part of his life. Wil Kinky takes that same work ethic to music, with a love and a passion for it you can feel.

Device Grips

What started as a solo MC/guitar looping project transformed into a vibrant live band featuring funky baselines, flashy horns, fresh beats and gritty melodic conscious hip hop vocals backed by psyche-delic instrumentation with hints of *Black Keys + The Roots + Sound Tribe Sector 9.

The Student Loan String Band

What started as a solo MC/guitar looping project transformed into a vibrant live band featuring funky baselines, flashy horns, fresh beats and gritty melodic conscious hip hop vocals backed by psyche-delic instrumentation with hints of *Black Keys + The Roots + Sound Tribe Sector 9.

Cooper and The Jam

A Veritable fireball, Cooper radiates energy onstage and in the studio. The red haired dynamo was raised in the Oregon coastal mountains, but can be found gypsying about the country stealing hearts. She brings a magical stage presence that lingers long after she has skipped town. Cooper has recently opened for such legends as Wanda Jackson, Mavis Staples, and Robert Plant. Nashville’s esteemed Music City Roots calls her “de-lightful, twinkly, impassioned, and on the make.”

Dirty Revival

Led by the soulful vocals of Ms. Sarah Clarke and enhanced by verses from mc Evv’n’flo, DR has emerged on the Pacific Northwest music scene with passion and flare. The unique ensemble inter-mingles classic and original tracks with a resounding presence, no matter how big or small the venue.

SCHEDULE

Sir Mix A Lot Sir Mix-A-Lot parlayed a gonzo tribute to women with large buttocks into hip-hop immortality. But even before he struck crossover gold, Sir Mix-A-Lot was one of rap’s great D.I.Y. success stories. Coming from a city — Seattle — with barely any hip-hop scene to speak of, Mix-A-Lot co-founded his own record label, promot-ed his music himself, produced all his own tracks, and essentially pulled himself up by the proverbial American bootstraps. Even before “Baby Got Back,” Mix-A-Lot was a platinum-selling album artist with a strong following in the hip-hop com-munity, known for bouncy, danceable, bass-heavy tracks indebted to old-school electro.

Most recently, Sir Mix A Lot has performed with the Seattle Symphony. The rapper’s appearance at Benaroya Hall came about as part of the Seattle Symphony’s Son-ic Evolution series, which commissions new orchestral work inspired by Seattle’s music icons. Gabriel Prokofiev, a Lon-don-based composer, DJ and producer (and grandson of the Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev), orchestrated “Baby Got Back” as well as the 1988 track “Posse on Broadway.”

Larry and His FlaskLarry and His Flask return to the Bend Summer Festival for one of their only Reunion Tour Shows of 2015. Larry and His Flask are a high energy, five-piece carnival of a band that incorporate rock, folk, bluegrass, soul, brass band, punk and alt-country into their own unique sound. Some people call what they do “folk-punk”, others call it “a bluegrass traveling circus” and everyone who’s een them live rightfully call Larry and His Flask “down right WILD”. But no matter what you call it, this is a band that has to be seen to be believed.

Their fantastic renditions of modern and classic hits, along with a number of high energy originals, are sure to get you on your feet.

High Street Band“The High Street Experience” has been sweeping from New York to Las Vegas since the Early 90’s! Founded as a Jazz Quartet by Drummer Bruce Wehler, Bassist Tim Swan-son, Keyboardist Stuart Dennis and Sax man Randy McKellip, High Street soon added a Full Horn Section, adopted Zoot Suits and when they added Front Man Matt Summers and pro Sax man Steve Goff they incorporated the “High Street Experience.

QuadraphonnesPassionate about the saxophone, its char-acteristics and possibilities, The Quadra-phonnes are adventurous! These strong, talented, ladies break the boundaries of the saxophone quartet with their mighty chops, tantalizing grooves, soaring solos and dy-namic vocals. Covering a variety of musical styles from jazz-funk-pop, to avant-garde, gypsy-punk and classical, the quads put on a great show! Celebrating their 8th year together, they have released a second album, Get the Funk Out! It is all funk, all original and features their booty-shaking rhythm section with guest appearances from guitarist, Jennifer Batten. Mary-Sue Tobin, Chelsea Luker, Mieke Bruggeman

and Michelle Medler are multi-talented, serious musicians who defy the idea that four beautiful women playing saxes is just a gimmick! The Quadraphonnes will blow you away!

Earth Wind and Fire Tribute BandKalimba, a Earth, Wind and Fire tribute band will knock your socks off as they take the stage two separate times during the Bend Summer Festival. Reviving one of the greatest bands of all time, you’ll hear the greats including “September”, “Let’s Groove”, “Shining Star”, “Boogie Wonder-land”, among many more.

Nu Shooz main photo above

In April 1985 Valerie Day, John Smith, and their band NU SHOOZ, released the five-song EP ‘Tha’s Right!’. Acting on a dare from a local music writer, Gary Bryan of Portland Oregon’s KKRZ put the song “I Can’t Wait” on the air. Listener reaction was strong and immediate- the kind of response known in radio jargon as ‘Instant Phones.’

But this was no overnight sensation. By the time the whole world heard about the Soul band from Oregon, they’d spent seven years onstage, four hours a night, four or five nights a week. So, when their spotlight moment came, the Shooz could get up and play.

By the end of the year “I Can’t Wait” was a regional hit. But the song really took off when it was remixed by Dutch DJ Peter Slaghuis. Atlantic Records signed the band in January 1986. “I Can’t Wait” eventually reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100. Other hits followed. NU SHOOZ was nominated for a Best New Artist Grammy in 1987.

What a long, strange, beautiful trip it’s been.

Fast forward to the present…

After a lengthy hiatus from the world of pop/funk and soul, (to raise a family and play other styles of music,) Valerie and John revive the Nu Shooz sound. The husband and wife team are back on the road as part of the Super Freestyle Explosion Tour and the live eight piece band, Shoo-Horns and all, are playing shows for the first time in 25 years. And the journey continues...

Earth Wind & Fire Tribute Band

Kalimba, a Earth, Wind and Fire tribute and will knock your socks off as they take the stage two separate times during the Bend Summer Festival. Reviving one of the great-est bands of all time, you’ll hear the greats including “September”, “Let’s Groove”, “Shining Star”, “Boogie Wonderland”, among many more.

Sarah BillingsA pretty little thing with a kitten strut and a church smile, Ms. Billings is not yet what one might call seasoned, but she has nev-ertheless been swiftly welcomed into the oftentimes exclusive blues family—which should tell you something—gigging with the respectable likes of the Norman Sylvester Band, Renato Caranto, and Portland’s own Boogie Cat. Her band as well will strike you more as baby-faced beginners than the grizzled sort of blues cats that often grace the stages of Buffalo Gap or Knuckleheads. However, like Billings, they’ll surprise you with their chops.

Keegan Smith and The Fam Keegan Smith and The Fam have been a refreshing staple of Northwest music scene for nearly a decade. Smith’s trailblazing style infuses medleys of the bands popular originals with memorable covers by the artists that have most inspired his musical growth. The sound has been compared to the likes of Bob Marley, soul troubadour Martin Sexton, the story rhyme telling of Wyclef Jean, with the gravel filled melo-dies of Everlast. The Fam’s sound has been deemed Urban-Americana (Reggae/Funk/Folk/Hop) and when their improv takes off, the party people rock!!!

Moon Room Moon Room is an intimate, laid-back indie rock group from Bend, Oregon. The group is composed of four young men (17-18 years old) who have spent their lives saturated in music, and more recently discovered their passion for performing. Their individual styles blend elements of alternative, jazz, and blues melded with rock and pop. By aligning their unwavering dedication to creating a signature sound, singers/guitarists Andrew Laflamme & Ryan Pickard, bassist Evan Young, and drummer Connor Streeter have proved that ambition and attitude can still prevail in music.

All You All A four piece band from Bend, OR , All You All blends an array of classic and contemporary sounds into their own mix of eclectic Rock N’ Roll. After independently releasing their first two EP’s, AYA has been hard at work building their fan base locally and throughout the pacific northwest. Now into their third year as a group, they have began work on their first full length slated to be released in 2015.

Stereo Treson Stereo Treason is 5 guys with unique and diverse backgrounds coming together to make some music. After touring, recording albums and playing hundreds of shows in other bands, we decided to get together and see what happens. Our goal is to write good music and have some fun! So check it out and we hope you enjoy!

Weather Machine The Weather Machine BioThe Weather Machine’s sophomore full-length, Peach, was recorded over the course of

two years, and showcases the band’s transition from folk-born storytelling into the realm power-ballads and effects pedals. Common threads of levity and intrigue tie the album together as the project experiments with musical identity to cover a breadth of sonic and lyrical ground. It’s not quite “tongue and cheek,” but Peachmakes

the listener wonder, pitting a faux-country anthem called “Wannabe Cowboys” right up against the electronic slow-jam title track, then moving deftly along into “Breakup Song” –a tune worthy of high-kicking chorus lines. Recorded between Pacific City and Portland, OR, the album was produced by the band’s guitarist Colin Robson at Kiwanda Sound Recordings and debuts on March 24, 2015.

Zander Reese Zander Reese is a young singer songwriter from Bend, Oregon. His music is a soulful mix of alternative/Indie music with a healthy dose of grunge, punk and blues thrown in.

Trailer 31

Trailer 31 is a trio that was formed around a similar passion for old time, foot stomping, acoustic string music. Their love for exploration of the outdoors and this great state of Oregon, resonates through their three part harmonies and straightforward, heart-felt delivery of original songs.

Coyote Willow Pacific Northwest acoustic group Coyote Willow’s exciting combination of

cello, guitar and rich vocals combine to take you on a musical journey that will have you laughing, crying, dancing and celebrating the rhythms of life.

Victory Swig Lift your glasses high and enjoy a Victory Swig. Live original music peppered with unique takes on covers.

Mark Ransom & The Mostest The Mostest is a clever, guitar-heavy, original jam-band from Bend, Oregon. Songwriter/guitarist Mark Ransom, bassist Patrick Pearsall and Kaleb Kelleher on drums.

Together now through the release of three original CDs, and getting ready to head into the studio for number four, their focus is still on honing the live show, and creating a space for musical magic to happen. Long, loose jams segue to tight arrangements, polished metaphorical thoughts and then back again. It is danceable and the groove is always in the pocket.

Strive Roots Up Beat Reggae ska/ Down tempo Hard rock built to inspire the mind, move the body and feed the spirit.

The Rum and the Sea The Rum And The Sea grew from its start a few years ago as a folky trio into a six piece band that seemed to literally always be playing somewhere in Bend, before settling down to its current well polished incarnation that features the singer/songwriter talent of Jason D. Schweitzer, backing vocals and bluesy lead guitar by Chris Youngers, hearty

bass plucking by Ben Samples, killer riffs on electric guitar from Tim Schroeder, and a superb rhythmic framework from Brent Barnett on drums. Today, the band has an eclectic set list that focuses on their own originals, which include punk/rock-leaning love ballads to roller derby girls, quietly powerful blues tunes with emotional storylines, folk/bluegrass romps, and nearly every other genre of music you could think of, somehow seamlessly melded into an intensely powerful live show. Peppered in among these, however, are reimagined classics that get even first time listeners out of their chairs and singing along.

Smallcano

An obsidian rock band from Bend, Oregon, Smallcano is delivering explosive vocals and musical magma to unsuspecting victims everywhere. Carnivorous Colorado cowboy S’aint Willy joins Texas veganaut troubadour Gary Fulkerson on guitar and vocals along with fellow Texan Tommy Ocel on bass and Ken McClintock on Alaskan beats in a quest to magmify new tunes and refire vintage riffs.

Just Us

Just Us, came together In  Bend, Oregon.  With influences in driving blues-rock, soul, funk, and Jazz.  Every member of the band comes from a different place, time, and musical preference.  This means influences from across the musical spectrum.

Out of the Blue Band OOTB is a five piece dance band with roots in R & B and Classic Rock with some tasty original material blended into the mix. Where ever Out of the Blue is playing there is a party going on. Based

out of Bend, Oregon, OOTB creates a vibe that audiences of all ages can move to. With the cool sounds of Motown, rock, and soulful blues it’s a style of musical groove that makes people want to get up and shake it on the dance floor.  Influences like Al Green, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Etta James, Sam & Dave inspire the R & B side. BUSKER STAGEIan James Being raised in North Portland, Ian James full musical tal-ent is continuing to blossom both on a local and national level. From humble beginnings, Ian James talent was cul-tivated through an appreciation of soulful and true music, and this is reflective in his personal musical stylings.

Miguel de Alonso Miguel de Alonso plays instrumental Latin Jazz on guitar and violin as well as oud and other Middle Eastern instru-ments like the Baglama and Bousouki. This multi-instru-mentalists and composer began performing at the age of 12 palying Latin American folk instruments from most regions of the continent. He is an Ethnomusicologist who did his musical studies in Mexico, France, Germany and Canada.

Dillon Schneider Dillon Schneider is the founder and Executive Director of the Cascade School of Music. Dillon started playing the guitar at age 12, and got involved in playing jazz while at Dartmouth College where he graduated with a degree in Earth Sciences. After Dartmouth, Dillon went on to study jazz at Western Washington University with renowned bassist Chuck Isreals, and graduated with a degree in Jazz Studies. Currently Dillon performs with his trio, the Groove Merchants, and enjoys watching his daughter Luci learn to play the piano.

Richard Taelour This local jazz musician will play from 12pm and 2pm on Saturday, July 11th on busker stage #2. When not performing at the Bend Summer Festival, you can find Richard every Tuesday night at Rat Hole Brewing where he plays with his group, “Strong Hold”.

Josh Wuerth As a guitarist/keyboardist, Josh Wuerth collaborates with a wide variety o flocal artists, mostly singlers and lyrical emcee’s such as Keegan Smith (Keegan Smith and The Fam) to bring his mix of jazz, funk and soul to life. His live show is danceable and smooth.

Lino Lino began studying guitar at the age of nine with clas-sical master, George Bachmann. During his high school years, he was naturally drawn to rock music, although it never diverted him from his interest in classical. “I was very lucky to have been instructed in classical music before I ventured into the rock realm,” Lino explains. “It made me a well-rounded musician and gave me a lot to draw from as a composer later on.

STAFF BIOS

Michelle Roats, Festival Director

A veteran leader of C3 Events, Michelle Roats proved to be one of the finest in C3 Events history. She has returned this year to be the Director of the Bend Summer Festival (as well as the spring festival and the fall festival). Michelle is cutting her chops and breathing fresh energy into these favorite Bend, events. The festivals will thrive under Michelle’s talented, highly organized and dynamic ways.

Melissa King, Event Lead, Beverage Vending Coordinator, Special Assistant, and Sponsorship Sales

Melissa is an outstanding event planner. She is highly organized, personable, pro active, relational- she has combined her exten-sive experience in sales and food and beverage to become one of the brightest stars in the C3 Events hemisphere.  Melissa’s ethic of care and love of events have led her to her current roles in sponsorship and beverage sales and event lead management (go check out her fine work at the NW Crossing Saturday Farmers’ Market and at Munch and Movies). She is precious, irreplace-able.

Leann Schoales, Food Vendor Manager/Event Lead

Leann is perhaps, the most talented event technician and food vending procurement specialist, in C3’s history. She has the perfect set of skills- combining outstanding sales and customer relationships with a knack for design and event aesthetic. You’ll find Leann onsite at the festival ensuring details are covered and coordinating with our food vendors.

Lee Perry-Gibbens, Operations Director

Owner of the event planning/talent purchasing/consulting firm “Event-Theory,”  Lee returns to the Bend Summer Festival as the single most experienced event logistics and operations planning coordinator in Central Oregon.  Lee has previously worked with Lay it Out Events and C3 Events for more than 15 years.

Jim Cone, Conscious Living Showcase Director

Jim launched this grass roots street dedicated to non-profits, mom and pop businesses, green living, and healthy lifestyles four seasons ago.  It’s all about community.  Jim’s history in green building, and owning his own steel construction company has made him a massive asset for our team.

Tracy Delperdang, Fine Artist Coordinator

Tracy is a seasoned event professional with more than 15 years of related experience in event coordination and non-profit fundraising. As an arts and culture enthusiast, Tracy coordinates the fine artist and performance section of the Bend Summer Festival.

Erika Erkel, Gourmet Jazz Food & Wine coordinator

Erika interned for C3 events “back in the day” and has returned to coordinate the Gourmet Jazz Food & Wine street at the Bend Summer Festival with a wealth of knowledge and keen eye for “the details”. Erika is breathing new life into the street by infusing the atmosphere with her design aesthetic and bubbly personality.

Kilee Johnson, ADA Compliance Manager

As a community minded advocate for health and wellness, and as a lovely human being, Kilee is perfectly suited to fill the role of C3 Events ADA Compliance Manager. Additionally, Kilee will be available to help with any questions or concerns for event attendees.

Rainie Stein, Family Fun Street Coordinator

Responsible for ensuring that our youngest festival attendees and their families have a blast at the Bend Summer Festival, Rainie brings enthusiasm and the touch of care that only this mother of two can offer to the Family Fun Street.

Tiffany Clark, Art and Soul

Tiffany Clark comes from the hospitality industry, where most recently she has been working as a Vice President for Operations and Marketing at a Texas Gulf home community, called Seahorse. Previously, she served as the Vice President of Marketing for Pronghorn Properties.  She is a distiller of soul, a creator of beauty.  Everything she touches (artist coordination, general counsel, event development) turns to gold.

Cameron  Clark, Owner, Meddler

Cameron is a fluoroquinolone toxicity survivor, a cancer survivor and a dad. He finds his greatest joy in spending time with  his daughters Cecilia Grace (10) and Liliana-Kayce-Marie (7).  He has been producing award winning events since 1984 (31 years).  He is passionate about building community and looks forward to a great festival.

Kirsten Staack, Operations Lead Jazz and Wine Street

Kirsten came to us in 2014, after being heavily recruited by Me-lissa King.  She ran lead operations for the NorthWest Crossing Saturday Farmers’ Market, and quickly established herself as an elite operations force, capable of doing the work of several staff all at once.  She is highly skilled, her work ethic is off the charts, and her attitude is extraordinary- she is a gem, and will run a crew with incredible precision and detail.

Jami Garrett, Bookkeeping

A long time local bookkeeper, Jami manages to create systems and develop protocol that keeps all the assorted accounting, on site, on track.  A deeply spiritual soul, Jami brings both angels and math skills to our festivals (and you can’t possibly have enough of either!).

Bradley Paul O’Neal, Graphic Design, Special Ops Lead

Growing up in suburban Seattle, Bradley spent many of his teen-age and young adult summers, coming to bend and working on the C3 Events operations crew.  He is a brilliant fine artist, and a talented drummer.  After graduating from Western Washington University with a degree in Graphic Design, Bradley with his great, big, heart, took his first design gig with Microsoft, and found that he was missing something.  In search of existential answers- Brad moved to his sacred place, Bend, Oregon, in the winter of 2014, and lends C3 Events, now, his massive, creative, design skills, the use of an occasional paint brush, and he has helped to keep his uncle going during vulnerable times.  On top of all of that, he is the greatest cousin that two little girls could ever have!

Kirsten Morrell, Intern

A native Bendite and recent graduate of the University of Oregon, Kirsten joined the C3 team a mere two weeks prior to the Bend Summer Festival kick-off. We’re impressed. At Oregon, she was a founding member of the Student Event Planners Association where she planned student activities and events. We are so fortunate to have this bright and outgoing young person as a member of our team this summer.
