this is an exciting time at Fordham Pep with new design projects in the Lynchcommons, our front entrance and our chapel of St. Joseph. the commons will be completed by the beginning of the school year; the new entrance and lobby will be dedicated later in the fall. our new chapel will be built next summer. in the past ten years, Fordham Prep has invested over $15 million in campus upgrades to its physical plant.

the commons has been completely renovated. it is brighter and has six digitalscreens and a new dean's office.

in the new entrance, visitors will be greeted by two larger than life bronze reliefs of our patron saints St. ignatius Loyola and St. John the Baptist. the lobby will include video monitors, original student artwork, displays from our archives andcomfortable areas for guests, students and faculty.

When the new chapel is built on the third floor, it will have natural light from thelarge windows facing the university church, and will seat 80 worshipers—a spacelarge enough for a class reunion or an emmaus retreat homecoming, but stillsmall enough to celebrate intimately the baptism of an alumnus’ baby.

as a Jesuit, college preparatory school, Fordham Prep’s mission is to inspire young men to reflect,to question, to learn, to pray, to love, to serve, to lead. Since 1841, we have based our challengingcurriculum and pursuit of human and academic excellence on a foundation of catholic faith andprinciples. We seek to be one community created from a broad spectrum of ethnic, racial, geographic, and socio-economic backgrounds. We strive to include qualified students of limited financial resources by providing substantial financial assistance. our faculty and staff dedicate themselves to a caring and dynamic interaction outside the classroom, a characteristic of Jesuit education forover 450 years. We educate our students to be men for others: spiritually motivated, intellectuallyaccomplished and committed to promoting justice.
