2014/2015 Mittersill 22-25/09 Slide 2 In Italy we usually have three main meals during the day: breakfast, lunch and dinner. We also have a break during the morning when we are at school and a snack in the afternoon. Our breakfast is generally composed by carbohydrates, fruit, coffee and milk. Our lunch is usually formed by carbohydrates, vegetables, and fruit. For dinner we habitually have soups, meat or fish and vegetables. Generally, for snacks we have sandwiches, sweets and fruits. Slide 3 The Canossian Institute has been in Treviso since 1843. It was originally born as a masterful institute, where poor girls learned how to become teachers. Later it changed in high school where Maths, Physics and Sciences are mainly taught. Nowadays in our school we can also find elementary, middle classes and vocational training center (CFP). Slide 4 Our project is based on the questions we asked various students about food and sports. We interviewed boys and girls of the junior and senior high school. Then our class was divided into 4 groups and each group analized the collected data. We asked some questions to 21 females and 16 males of middle school (11-14 years old) and to 42 females and 38 males of high school (15-19 years old). These are the results we have collected Slide 5 In this graphic we can see that most of the males between 15 and 19 years old mostly eat four times a day, instead females between 15 and 19 years old usually eat 5 or more times per day. Females and males between 11 and 14 years old usually have 5 or more meals per day. Slide 6 Slide 7 In this graphic we can see that most of the students generally have breakfast, but we can also see that there are some teenagers that have breakfast only sometimes. Slide 8 In this graphic we can see that most of the people usually eat carbohydrates, fruit and proteins for breakfast. Slide 9 Slide 10 We can see that proteins and carbohydrates are the principal elements of lunch. Slide 11 Slide 12 In this graphic we can see that most of the teenagers have a snack and only few students do not have a snack. Slide 13 In this graphic we can see that most of the people eat carbohydrates and sweets for snack. Slide 14 In this graphic we can see that most of the students spend less than 10 euros to buy meals, but there are also some students that spend between 10 and 20 and even girls aged 11-14 who spend more than 20 per week. Slide 15 Slide 16 We can see that proteins and carbohydrates are the principal elements of dinner. Slide 17 Slide 18 In the graphic you can see that most of the people practise sports but a lot of females between 15 and 19 years old do not practise any sports. Slide 19 We can see that generally people do sports two or three times a week, but there are quite a lot of males between 15 and 19 that practise sports 4 or more times a week. Slide 20 In this graphic we can see that about 40% of females between 15 and 19 and males between 11 and 14 do not eat before training. Slide 21 Most of the people eat after training, but more than 30% of the females between 15 and 19 do not! Slide 22 Slide 23 In the graphic we can see that most of the students do not use vitamin supplements. Slide 24 Too many teenagers do not know the effects of vitamin supplements on their body, but most of the males between 15 and 19 years old know their effects.
