Teacher Centre Managers’
Course
10 – 15 August 2014
Day 5
Day 5: Gearing up for Action
By the end of this session you
will be able to:
• State the core messages that your Teacher Centre
wishes to communicate
• Market your Teacher Centre following a Marketing Plan
• Use Twitter as a form of professional development and
a way of communicating about your Teacher Centre
• List action items/ resolutions to implement at your
Teacher Centre
Importance of Twitter
People say, “I couldn’t do my work nowadays
without Twitter” but usually someone points out
that you can’t learn to become a doctor using
Twitter.
Of course this is true – but it’s actually missing
the point. It’s not about using Twitter to learn
how to become a doctor, but about using
Twitter to become a better doctor – or certainly
a better-informed doctor, and keep up to date
with what’s new in the medical profession.
