    The Pee Wee Basketball Program is open to children in Kin-dergarten through second grade. The program focuses on in-troducing the basic skills and rules of basketball. Registra-

    tion will open on Monday, February 3, 2014. RegistrationDEADLINE is Friday, April 4 2014. (A $10 late fee willapply to all registration received after this date.) All gameswill be played in McKinleyville. Kindergarten players will bein a division separate from 1st & 2nd graders. Practices startthe week of April 14th and 1st game is April 26th. No gameswill be scheduled on May 24th - Memorial Day Weekend.

    This unique youth basketball game is played with a two playerteam. Each team has one minute to score as many points as pos-sible from any of 7 different shooting spots, each with a different

    point value. Players will be divided by gender and grade.Registration DEADLINE:Friday, February 28, 2014.

    LEISURE CLASSES

    Join experienced instructor Delilah Huck for a six week coursedesigned to help new pet owners deal with and understandnormal puppy behaviors that can sometimes be overwhelming

    and frustrating for the inexperienced puppy owner. Learn thetools for solving problems such as digging, chewing, mouthing,and more. Lessons will include teaching your dog to come, sitdown, stand, walk on loose lead, interact with people without

    jumping, and go to your bed.

    Puppy Training

    Join experienced instructor Delilah Huck for a six week coursedesigned to train you to become the leader in your relationshipwith your dog and train your dog to view you as such. Onceaccomplished, your dog will begin to look to you for guidance.This class will cover heel on a leash, down stay, sit stay, comewhen called, down in motion, keeping your dogs attentionaround distractions, and how to elicit playful behavior fromyour dog.

    4Leader-In-Training (LIT) Program

    Get a jumpstart on developing leadership skills in this greatvolunteer program for teens age 13 and up. LITs serve at the

    Kids Camp Summer Day Camp program as assistants to ourRecreation Leaders; helping lead games, teaching arts & crafts,leading song circles, and more. The LIT Program is a greatway for teens to gain valuable work experience in a fun andsupportive atmosphere.

    LITs must commit to a minimum of 3 weeks of camp, volun-teering Monday-Friday for each of the 3 weeks. Full day or halfday scheduling is available.

    LITs must attend pre-camp training (dates TBA) in order to be

    eligible to be scheduled for shifts.

    Teens who complete the LIT Program are eligible to serve atother recreation programs sponsored by McKinleyville Parks &Recreation including the Kids Club After School Program andBreakout, our School Break Daycamps. Service and Leader-ship look great on resums and job applications. Several former

    Join McKinleyville Parks & Recreation for a dynamic summer day camp program in which youth ages 6-12 years oldwill have theopportunity to choose their summer experience. Participants will have a choice between a variety of options for each Activity seg-ment of the daily schedule. Summer is a time for fun and freedom, so we like to provide each participant the opportunity for freedom

    of choice whenever possible. We offer opportunities for free play both indoors and outdoors each day.

    Field trips are offered weekly.Field trips require an additional fee and are available

    ONLY for Full Day camp participants.

    Roller Skating is a weekly activity. Participants are welcome to bring their own skates or borrow some of ours!
