Many things stand out from the writings of the Apostle Paul one of which was his reoccurring theme of “new creation.” Paul teaches the people of his day as well as all of us, that through the crucifixion, death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, we are transformed. Paul did not imply we were the reconstructed people we were before, but we are actually made new in Christ, everything about us changes. As we start this New Year let us live as His new creation.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new

creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Pastoral Ponderings

United Methodist Women (UMW) December 5th UMW ladies decorated a Christmas Tree for the birds to support the Round Lake Library’s Fund raiser for the restoration of the auditorium. Our tree for the birds raised $75 for this cause.

December 7th we were host to 18 kids decorating cookies, tree trimming and chatting with Santa in our fellowship hall. The smiles on the children’s faces

Thank you to Jodi and her kids! The service was wonderful and I do not think there was a dry eye in the congregation. A special thank you goes out to Jodi for all her hard work, also to Doug who helped with the sound. It was a wonderful time of worship and I am sure everyone felt very blessed. The Torch

We are the Round Lake United Methodist

Church… Opening doors, Opening hearts, Opening minds!

Fourteen Ladies attended the UMW Christmas Party at Ruth Milczarek’s on December 16th. We all enjoyed a roast pork dinner with all the trimmings. We had a fun filled evening with devotions and holiday fun.

We look forward to January when we’ll be collecting items to fill our Valentine Bags for our church family shut-ins. All items will be due in Sunday, February 2nd.

The Care Ministry has been active within our church for many, many years. We have provided meals to families, taken members to appointments, visited shut-ins at their homes and nursing homes, made calls, sent cards, and many more acts of kindness. The Care Ministry is
