TPO News Pro Tip: Using Cloud VC for Team Presentations

Desktop recording isn't rocket science. Your PC or laptop probably already has software installed with your
webcam which can make simple recordings. But what if you want to co-present with other team members?
Many of today's cloud videoconferencing servicesoffer recording. Simply start a normal video meeting, turn on
the recording feature, and start your presentation. When you are done you can just send it "as is" to YouTube,
or use readily available editing software to add a few effects, as we have done with this sample.

Huawei IMAX Presence Brings Smart Communication with Panoramic View

Huawei released a new telepresence environment called IMAX
Presence with an ultra-wide panoramic display that stiches
together ten 70-inch seamlessly spliced large screens. The
room also appears to seat around 3-4 dozen participants. We

Glass without the glasses: Google patents smart contact lens system with a CAMERA built in

Google has patented a smart contact lens that could
see its Glass wearable computer fit inside a smart
lens.
The firm has already developed a contact lens for
diabetics analyses their tears, warning them if their
glucose levels are low.

IRobot sees growth in Roomba, telepresence robots April 24, 2014 | Telepresence Options

IRobot stock slipped 10 percent Wednesday after the
company reported its first-quarter net income had slid to
$5.3 million from $8.4 million.
And while revenue was in line with projections, investors
didn't take too kindly to net income numbers, which the
company blamed on investment tax credits taken last year.

The cardiology department at Evelina Children's Hospital -
part of the Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust in
London - has an international reputation for treating heart
problems in children, caring for around 6,000 patients each
year. As with all hospitals, Evelina is constantly trying to make
the procedures it carries out as efficient and stress-free for
patients as possible. To this end, it recently introduced new
technology in a bid to make surgical operations run more
smoothly.

Silicon Valley video conferencing firm Fuze partners with BT April 24, 2014 | Telepresence Options

Silicon Valley enterprise video conferencing firm Fuze has announced a multi-
year partnership with BT that will allow its customers to make audio calls over
its software platform without an internet connection.
Specifically, the partnership will enable Fuze's business customers, who pay $20
per user per month, to make audio calls over BT's global telecoms infrastructure
when a VoIP [Voice over Internet Protocol] connection isn't available.
