Telematics:Driving Adoption
through Technology
2014 AEMP Asset Management SymposiumNovember 3-5, 2014
Sheraton Music City Hotel • Nashville TN
2 7th Annual AEMP Asset Management Symposium
WelcomeGreetings AEMP Members and Supporters,
Welcome to Nashville and AEMP's 2014 Asset Management
Symposium. The AEMP Education Committee has worked
tirelessly to develop the educational sessions for this event that
will cover topics critical to the success of our industry and your
professional growth.
The theme of this year's Asset Management Symposium is Telematics: Driving
Adoption Through Technology. There are many questions in our industry
about telematics and how business decisions and daily operations can
benefit from the data available to help your bottom line.
Telematics is reshaping the way we do business, but there are still many
questions about how the technology is deployed, how to aggregate and
make sense of the data, and what the future holds. With this in mind, we
have dedicated the conference education portion of our 2014 Asset
Management Symposium to the topics surrounding telematics.
Additionally, this year's event is being held in conjunction with AEM’s
Customer Support Council Seminar to offer many new networking
opportunities as well as several shared educational sessions. We hope you
take advantage of this unique opportunity to have conversations across the
three points of the equipment triangle of end-users, distributors, and
manufacturers.
Please let me or any AEMP board member know if there is anything we can
do to make this event better for you, now or for future conferences.

CI SESSIONS
Certification Institute (CI)AEMP’s credentials showcase the specialized skill sets needed by equipment industry
professionals. Each offering is led by industry experts with a strong focus on peer-to-
peer learning. They are designed to enhance individual skill sets, to provide an
opportunity to exchange best practices, and to present new ideas and strategies
unique to the equipment industry.
The 2014 Asset Management Symposium will offer courses and examination for the
following two credentials:
The Certified Equipment Manager (CEM) designation is the only
recognized standard for judging the qualifications of a manager
of heavy off-road equipment or manager of
municipal/government fleets. It is an attainable goal for
equipment managers who want to be identified as
exceptional. To achieve this goal, it takes personal motivation
and depends on dedication to professionalism.
In today’s competitive market, quality and customer
satisfaction go hand in hand. To increase consumer confidence
and trust, and help build more prosperous relationships, AEMP
introduced the Certified Equipment Support Professional (CESP),
a certification program for equipment suppliers. The purpose of
the CESP is to provide a high standard of certification to a
professional supplier who possesses a depth of understanding of
fleet management skills and the ability to interact with all fleet-
related professionals.
For professionals who have already earned their CEM or CESP, the 2014 Asset
Management Symposium will provide 12 Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) toward
recertification of your designation. Additional CEU’s may be earned by attending other
qualifying education or through AEMP University, www.aempu.org.
