MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
The Master of Business Administration (MBA) is the most recognisedmanagement qualication in the world.
Since 2011, the Waikato-Tainui College for Research and
Development (the College) has delivered its innovative Waikato MBA
programme in a distinctive living and learning environment.
Jointly delivered in partnership with the University of Waikato, our
MBA is unique in that it fosters Maaori values and indigenous ways of
doing business.
Established by the late Sir Robert Mahuta in 2000, the College is a
postgraduate academic and research institution built to develop a
national and international community of leading indigenous scholars.
In this short-time, the College has won an international MBA
Innovation Award from the London-based Association of MBAs.
This award is testament to the quality of our MBA programme and the
uniqueness of its curriculum.
The Waikato MBA is internationally accredited and renowned for
exceptional standards of character, competency and quality content.
WHY CHOOSE OUR MBA?
Unlike other MBAs, our Waikato MBA has been contextualised
with an indigenous focus within a supportive kaupapa Maaori
environment.
It allows participants to explore real world, real life business
challenges including case studies of organisations involved in and
relevant to indigenous business and industry.
Our faculty members are also complemented by prominent guest
speakers that provide the indigenous context.
Participants are also supported by a strong network of Maaori MBA
alumni, who are mentors for the programme, ensuring the distinctive
indigenous perspective is reinforced.

Part One of the Waikato MBA programme provides the key skills

ENTRY CRITERIA
MBA Part One, applicants must have:
An undergraduate degree*
At least three years relevant management experience
(includes people, project or functional management
experience) CV outlining your employment history including previous roles,
responsibilities and duration of contract
Three written referees recommendations
(employer and character)
* Variations:
Requirements for an undergraduate degree may be waived if an
applicant can demonstrate substantial management experience with evidence of some tertiary study
You may be required to complete a Case Study test
You may be required to have an interview.

MBA Part Two, returning participants must have: Completed Waikato MBA Part One or Postgraduate
Diploma in Management Studies with a minimum B+
Grade Point Average.
FEE
Fee for the Master of Business Administration
(2014 indicative fee NZ citizens & permanent residents) is42,450.00 (approx.)$42,450.00 (approx.)The price indicated above is inclusive of GST. It includes all course-
related costs but exclude supplementary University charges that are
approximately $450 per year of study.
All fees are subject to change depending on University Council
approval and changes in University supplementary charges.
Note:
* This fee may be subject to change.
** If your programme spans more than one calendar year
there will likely be an increase for each subsequent year.
The fee for the Waikato MBA programme is all-inclusive and covers
the following:
All papers
International Study Tour All required textbooks
Course materials in soft format
Meals while attending in-class sessions
Internet access while on campus
Access to full-text online databases and Waikato
University library resources
Access to student health and counselling services
MBA SCHOLARSHIP
To assist you in your MBA journey, the following scholarships will be
available for participants studying at the College:
MBA Part OneA total value of $5,000 awarded to a participant in PartOne of the Waikato MBA.
MBA Part TwoA total value of $10,000 awarded to a participant with
the highest Grade Point Average overall entering Part Two of the
MBA.
DISTINCTION
You will qualify with distinction if you achieve an overall Grade Point
Average of A throughout the programme.
DEDICATED PROGRAMME CO-ORDINATORS
Our dedicated programme co-ordinators are your rst port of call
throughout your time with us. They will be your support and provide
you with all programme information, assessment details, extensions,
deadlines, calendar changes and events. We understand the
commitment and time it takes to complete the MBA and our
programme co-ordinators are here to help you nd a work-life
balance to suit your needs.

ABOUT THE VENUE
Nestled in the rural backdrop of the Waikato, the College is situated
at Hopuhopu, Ngaaruawaahia - just an hours drive south ofAuckland.
With majestic views of the Waikato River and Haakarimata Ranges,
the College provides accommodation and conferencing facilities.
The rich cultural environment of the College provides a holistic
atmosphere for participants and features 48 private studio rooms,
with fully-catered and self-catering options, shared facilities including
a main conference and dining room, as well as smaller seminar
rooms.
Outside participants can enjoy the beauty of the Waikato River and
experience the breath-taking sights of the Haakarimata ranges.
The scenic surroundings and tranquillity of the College make it the
perfect place for learning, and our friendly staff ensure your stay is
both comfortable and memorable.

IMPORTANT DATES
All classes are taught at the Waikato-Tainui College for Research and
Development, Hopuhopu, Ngaaruawaahia. Places are limited and
applications must be in by 7 March 2014. Applications received after
this date may not be accepted or may incur a late enrolment fee.
