    5 0 / 5 0 C O O P A D V E R T I S I N G G U I D E L I N E SThe following guidelines establish the criteria and qualifications for the coop advertising program authorized by Salford.

    1. Salford will participate on a 50/50 coop basis on the following items:

    • All ads that exclusively feature Salford Equipment and utilize approved artwork. Ads which feature new equipment must use current equipment ad material or material that has been pre-approved by Salford. This includes print, radio and TV advertising.

    • Want/Classified advertising on NEW Salford equipment only.

    • The Salford portion of multi-line ads ONLY if no competitive equipment is included, or if ads are clearly separated (see below).

    • Local tradeshows, sale barns, conventions, tractor pulls, etc will be eligible ONLY if pre-approved on an annual basis.

    • Signage, graphics or other materials ONLY if used as presented in this program. Please contact Salford if you would like assistance developing artwork for these items.

    2. Salford will NOT participate on a 50/50 coop basis on the following items, unless special circumstances are explained and pre-approved by the Salford Marketing Department:

    • Yellow Page advertisements.

    • Used equipment listings/advertising of any kind. If an advertisement contains both new and used equipment, only the new equipment portion will be eligible for coop.

    • Promotional items ordered from the Company Store website. See page 18 for more info on the Company Store program and dealer discounts.

    • Any advertising that does not incorporate the pre-approved materials in this program unless pre-approved by Salford marketing department.

    All reimbursement submissions must meet rules and guidelines to gain reimbursement. If in doubt, prior to expenditures, request pre-approval from the Salford marketing department by contacting Anson Boak at 519-485-3977 ext. 175 or [email protected].

    3. Maximum coop reimbursement amount to the Salford Dealer will be as follows: Reimbursement maximums to run concurrently with the fiscal year (June 1 – May 31). When the maximum amount has been reached, submissions for the coop program will not be accepted until the next fiscal year unless preapproved by the marketing department. 50/50 coop maximums are as follows:

    Coop Advertising Spending Limit

    An individual dealer’s coop advertising spending limit, without the need for pre-authorization from Salford, is 2% of a dealer’s total Salford sales from Salford’s previous fiscal year, to a maximum of $3,000.

    5 0 / 5 0 C O O P A D V E R T I S I N G G U I D E L I N E SWhen the maximum coop advertising amount has been reached submissions for the coop program will not be accepted until the next fiscal year unless preapproved by the marketing department.

    Examples:

    4. Pricing policy: New equipment ads including price will only be reimbursed if the Salford suggested list price is used. A dealer that advertises any new Salford equipment using any advertising medium less than manufactured suggested retail price will risk losing all of their allocated advertising funds.

    5. Multiple Dealer Listing Ads: Salford will participate on a 50/50 coop basis on advertisements that include “multiple dealer listings” ONLY if they are included in the approved publications list, and are pre-approved in writing by our marketing department.

    6. Submission Process: All proofs of ads, tearsheets and radio scripts must be mailed

    Submissions must include a copy of the billing invoice; copy of published/used ad slick, radio script, artwork, etc; and a reimbursement application form within 60 days of expense. In an effort to better track your coop usage, submissions must be received with 60 days of invoice date to be eligible for coop.

    7. Ad content/ artwork/ radio scripts/ logos can be found on the dealer site at www.salfordmachine.com.

    Dealers may be approved for total cooperative advertising spending over $3,000.00 with the submission of an advertising plan which receives approval from Salford.

    Advertising Venture Dealer Cost for Venture Salford’s Reimbursement to Dealer

    ¼ page ad in farm publication $350.00 Salford will reimburse $175.00

    Radio ads on local station $400.00 Salford will reimburse $200.00

    TV ad on local TV station $900.00 *This is a dealer spend over $500, therefore it must be pre-approved by Salford to qualify for reimbursement.

    Registration for the local tractor pull $300.00 *While this is not a dealer spend over $500, it is a spend for an item that requires pre-approval from Salford to qualify for reimbursement. Please see the Salford Marketing Program for details on what qualifies for reimbursement.

    $500.00 *This is not over $500, Salford will reimburse $250.00

    9 Salford branded field signs $100.00 Salford will reimburse $50.00

    Total Dealer Spend: $3,000 Supposing the TV ads and registration for the tractor pull are approved, the total reimbursement from Salford will be $1,500.
