S u c c e S S S t o r yKaty first started coming to Agape weekly in the fall of 2014. Upon arrival, she was very timid and withdrawn. At school Katy walked with her head down, not wanting to be talked to or even noticed. Katy’s grades were suffering, she had no friends and she had so many absences that school administrators were going to take action.

Once she started riding weekly at Agape,Katy began to come out of her shell, slowly revealing

the bright young lady within.

Riding has steadily built Katy’s self-confidence and has given her the reinforcement she needs to believe she is capable and she has worth.

Nearly a year later, her habilitation provider says the difference is “like night and day.” When she comes to Agape, Katy sees she can do something and she can learn, which spills over to school and her personal life. Since last fall, Katy has completely turned her grades around. On her last progress report, she had all As and Bs in her classes. The confidence that was so lacking when she first started riding has blossomed within her, and now Katy walks with her head held high. Katy’s habilitation provider says knowing there are people she doesn’t even know who care about her and believe in her has changed her perspective on life.

Katy’s experience is just one of many, and we are truly humbled to play a part in the transforming of these

precious young lives.

At Agape, we are blessed to have the wonderful volunteers that so graciously

and selflessly donate their time to help our programming! This year with the

opening of our new facility we were able to get 10,158 hours of time donated

from our amazing volunteers! We are continually humbled by the generosity

of our volunteers and their involvement in our students’ lives.
