Informational InterviewingWhat is it?-a low-pressure way to learn more about a career-a great way to make connections, and to learn about how to break into a g ynew field. - It can show you whether you are already a strong candidate; if not, you can learn what is required to become a strong candidate. -typically short, informal conversations meant to introduce you to the field and learn what the day to day life of someone in that career is like.

Send a letter, call, or email the person. Introduce yourself, tell them how you got their contact information and why you want to talk to them. Ask for a time that would be convenient to meet.Send them your resume or CV if asked.Meet them at a place of their choosing, either at their office or for lunch or coffee. Do not take more than an hour of their time, plan , pfor 30 minutes.Send a thank you note within 24 hours of the meeting.
