We are pleased to report that the Manito-wish Experience continues to help youth grow in wisdom and stature and in favor with God, and one another, as it has for 95 years. At Camp Manito-wish YMCA, we are successfully delivering on our mission of youth character and leadership development through summer camp, wilderness tripping, and collaborative leadership programming. How do we know we are succeeding? Because parents tell us:

• “This is our son’s second year at Manito-wish, and he tells me about all the great experiences that he had. Camp helps him grow into a strong confident young man. Thank you Manito-wish!”

• “We were extremely impressed by the camp! There are so many things which were very special; however, it was really the staff that made it outstanding. The term “coaching session” was truly just that. Our campers came home with so many new skills. In addition, the trail experience was remarkable. They keep telling us about the many things they learned (paddle canoes, pitch tents, purify lake water, make pizza, etc.).”

All of us at Manito-wish want you to know how grateful we are to YOU for your passion for, belief in, and gifts to Manito-wish. We embrace our stewardship responsibilities, including our obligations to all of you. As one family recently wrote; “We love giving to Manito-wish because it has positively changed our

lives…. We have seen how it changes our friend’s lives…. Seeing young women portage a canoe or complete a mountain pass is the most empowering feeling we can experience. For us, not needing a campership to attend camp is a great blessing. For many of our friends …they apply for camperships to complete trips they have been dreaming of since they were a first year camper. The overall feeling of giving to Manito-wish makes us very happy, because it leads to great things for so many great people-to learn and grow within themselves, others and in stature with God.” We are deeply grateful for your confidence in Manito-wish, and will continue to do all we can to deserve such support today and into our coming second century.

Every year, Camp Manito-wish YMCA conducts the Annual Fund Drive. The purpose is to solicit donations to help fund our operations, enhance our program areas, train staff, maintain equipment and support Camperships (financial aid for campers and Leadership participants who want to participate in Manito-wish programs but can’t afford the standard fee). Each year needs are projected and a monetary goal is set to meet them. The first and most important step in reaching that goal is contacting our many alumni and friends. We’re fortunate that so many people truly value the Manito-wish experience and want to support our mission. We are grateful to the Board of Directors and alumni volunteers who helped raise $473,452 during the 2013 Annual Fund Drive.

Manito-wish is the best thing that ever happened to us. My daughter looks forward to her time with you all year long.

There are not enough words do express my gratitude as a parent for all Manito-wish has provided her.

The Fires of Friendship Circle is comprised of men and women who believe in the mission of Camp Manito-wish YMCA, share its ideals and traditions, and have a commitment to ensure Manito-wish’s heritage is continued for future generations by making a deferred gift of any value as part of their estate plan and/or a cash contribution of $10,000 or greater to the endowment fund. Established in 2001, the Fires of Friendship Circle now has more than 270 members.

I am a Voyageur leader & girls summer camp counselor at Manito-wish. My grandpa went here, and my dad, aunts

& uncles - all completed Canucks & Westerns. I was fortunate enough to receive enough campership money to go on a Canuck & an Alaskan Backpacking Expeditionary, which completed my 7 years

as a camper. Summer Camp & Outpost defined my childhood & the person I’ve grown up to be. I will always call Manito-wish

home; it is such a magical place.

It was the most fun I’ve had in my life.

It was cool and I got to meet

a whole bunch of new friends.

Contributions to the Camp Manito-wish YMCA Endowment Fund guarantee a strong future for Camp Manito-wish and benefit future campers of all ages. The Camp Manito-wish YMCA Endowment Funds provide scholarships for all programs, funds for the maintenance of facilities, and other important objectives designated by donors.

I want to thank everyone at Manito-wish for helping to make our sons trip possible this year with a scholarship. We would not have been

able to send him to Alaska for the summer without it. We are all very grateful and not only have we referred Manito-wish to anyone who

listens to us, lol, we also plan on staying part of Manito-wish for life. It has been a wonderful and very special part of our sons youth and

he will forever treasure his connection to Camp Manito-wish. Thanks to all that have made that possible. We’re so thrilled that he

My son comes home each year from Manito-wish, a healthier, happier, more

confident young man. The leadership skills he’s learned continue to help advance him

in all he does, whether that’s in school, working, or just managing to keep to the right path as he navigates his teen years.

My boys told me about one boy who was really homesick during the first week. They talked about what that might
