Personal Registration Day (PRD), or on-site priority

registration, is when Anne Arundel Community

College supplies the architecture for Anne

Arundel County high school students to make the

decision to enroll in college.

Personal Registration Day, or on-site priority registration,

allows Anne Arundel Community College to assist in the

development of a “college-going” culture in our county’s

high schools and foster the belief that “college is

possible and a part of their future.”

Support needed from Anne Arundel County public and private schools to insure

high quality advising experience for their students


Memorandum of Understanding

AACC Declaration of Responsibility to HS • Start time: 8:00 a.m. End time: 2:00 p.m. unless approved

• Lunch break: 30 minutes

• Advising time per student: 30 minutes

• Advisers per day: 8 for 88 students

• Advisers per day: 10 for 100 students

• Accuplacer Placement Test scores

• Each student will receive a copy of their registration form with the contact

information and AACC catalog on disc

• The original registration form will be returned to AACC for processing

Students will receive their schedule/tuition bill about two weeks after PRD. The

schedule/tuition bill will indicate a July 1st deadline for payment.


Support Needed from High Schools

• Secure a location for the event, preferably the Media Center.

• Provide a location that is well lit and has individual advising tables

and chairs with enough spacing that advisers can conduct business

in professional manner and to respect the privacy of students and

their parents.

• Maintain the sign-up list of students participating in all PRD activities A sign-up sheet is attached to schedule advising sessions in 30 minute increments.

• Provide high school transcripts in alphabetical order.

January – February • Email sent to the director of Counseling, Advising & Retention

Services to request three academic advisers for each Personal

Registration Day and with the following attachments:

Personal Registration Day.


March - April Send an email with the following:

• Personal Registration Day Schedule

• Start and end time of each Personal Registration Day

• Instruction to give student a copy of the completed registration form with

contact information

• Parking instructions

• High school addresses and telephone numbers

• Instructions when a scheduled advising day is missed

• Instructions for the PRD Tracking Sheet and registration forms

• Each adviser will receive a PRD packet two days before the start of Personal

Registration Day.

The Office Manager:

• Reviews each PRD Tracking Sheet and attached registrations

and/or applications

• Oversees applications and /or registrations processed by two

student services assistants and four admission assistants

• Sends a letter to students when their application and/or registration

cannot be processed.

• Revises less complex registrations via the telephone until June 1.


• Be flexible!

• Send a thank you letter to all guidance chairmen and a

copy to the their principal and to the coordinator of

secondary school counseling.
